Splinter Cell Conviction trailer Bournes it up
16
Hot on the heels of a new Assassin's Creed trailer comes this new Splinter Cell Conviction trailer from Ubisoft's Ubidays event. The trailer shows off the new social stealth system that will be employed in Conviction, as well as Sam Fisher's new combat capabilities. We've noted before that Sam Fisher now possesses some kick ass maneuvers akin to those seen in the Bourne films and this trailer confirms it. In fact, the whole atmosphere of the trailer seems to take a page from the modern spy franchise, which isn't a bad thing at all. After all, how many times can you play as a guy in a rubber suit? Check out an extended look at the game after the break. Be warned though, the video is a little dark.
[Thanks, aaron]

This looks great. Hoping for a good story to go along with this. Hopefully there will also be some sort of multiplayer mode. Any news on if there will be one? I'd be very disappointed if they dropped it.

Looks good. I love the Ubi idea of 'hiding in plain sight'. If they can get realistic acting AI NPCs around ya, it'll be a good step in the right direction for 'next gen' gaming.
Am I too picky for wanting physics-based, free flowing fabric? That's a biggie for me. Imagine the uses! Okay, i'll shut up now.

Looks great. I wish companies would take a page from old monster flicks and start facing off main characters. Sam Fisher vs. Solid Snake.. or even better Sam Fisher vs. Guy from Assasins Creed... or Jack Bauer... or Chuck Noris.. I can go on forever...

Hate his hair though. Looks really fake on Sam.
Also, is this going to be competing with Assassin's Creed? They both have that "Social Stealth" Thing going for them... Could be a tough race.

So wait.. Splinter Cell has been turned into Hitman? Am I watching the right video........ fuck! Forshame, I thought Splinter Cell would be breaking new ground again with this new game, but it looks like hitman but they substituted the word hitman with emo spy.

Looks very interesting, especially the gameplay video. I'm a big fan of the Splinter Cell franchise and I'm glad they're changing it up a bit. Keeps the franchise fresh. I can't wait to read more about this in the coming months.

My thoughts exactly. Hell, even the music in the trailer could have been composed by Jesper Kyd. Hopefully this might fill the void I always feel after playing a Hitman game.

Hahah. The ending was so anticlimactic...

The people at Ubisoft sure are taking the new philosophy behind this game a little too far. Now the game it'self is truely just another face in the crowd, before it truely stood out among all the others.

That's probably because the immediate ending is never the climax.. but I dunno, that's just one man's Fact.

that was such a horrible trailer... Nothing against the game itself, but that trailer was pretty awful. It looked like they cut completely random scenes out of the game and pasted it together, then they added slow motion in random spots that didn't need slow motion. One thing i don't like about the games graphics so far are the animations. The people walking around walk like robots and even sam himself runs like he's made of cardboard. I think graphics aren't all about looking shiny with nice lighting, it needs realistic animations, and I think a lot of the new games are lacking that. I remember seeing a really realistic animation in a Too Human trailer, and that impressed me even though the wow factor of the graphics aren't that great. The gameplay video looks pretty good though, but that propane explosion looked like ass.
