Didn't they say that Korea would be getting a PS3 IPTV service? VOD is what MS Marketplace offers now. IPTV is something completely different and relies upon local cable providers for content. MS's Marketplace is content directly from MS servers.

They definitely have to improve the interface of the PSN network to handle scrolling through music and movies. The speed of the network has improved dramatically over the last couple weeks, but maybe that's just in my area. I think if they just added the ability to change the view of thumbnails and have the R1/L1 do a quick scroll up/down it would help a lot.

Also, they said that the music/video store was going to be available by the end of the year worldwide.

I am pretty sure they will make improvements to the PSN aside from that its good that they are actually rolling this thing out as they have been talking about movies, shows and music service since the start of the PS2.

Just as long as I don't need to be in Home, walk my avatar to a virtual television, and turn a virtual knob, every time I want to change the channel!

VOD is big in Korea. That is my personal belief as to why they are launching it out there. It isn't as big out here IMO.

At the moment there isn't much difference between XBL marketplace and PSN PlayStation store for me. I live in Australia and we don't get any movies or TV shows or anything like that on our marketplace. Just demos, game trailers, themes and crap like that, which is what I get on PlayStation store. So I guess Sony already caught up to Microsoft in a lot of countries.

That does seem to be something the X360 owners forget...Marketplace is crap outside the US (hell...its crap right across your border in Canada).
