OMGZ TEH FINAL SECRET!!1 Ubisoft seems to be having some fun in this closing segment of its "Games For Everyone" trailer -- perhaps at the expense of the ardent fanboy -- by featuring a Pinocchio-esque hologram manipulated by Wiimotes (or controllers that certainly imply "Wii Remote"). Despite 'the final secret' being shot down just before Wii's launch, hope remains and memories linger, if merely in the form of a spoofing advertisement that plays on Miyamoto's cryptic vision: "I've always thought that games would eventually break free of the confines of a TV screen to fill an entire room. But I would rather not say anything more about that."
The full Games For Everyone trailer (embedded below) reveals a series of whimsical scenes, which are, quite obviously, not to be taken literally. Jam Sessions won't actually make you a rock god with creation powers; just like My Life Coach won't spawn a breathing stick figure. And, no, Horsez won't come bundled with a four-legged subway companion. But what of this final scene that isn't directly tied to a specific product? Is it a symbolic representation of the Games For Everyone brand -- or a glimpse at the future? Either way, it may help to get the buzz going; at least, enough to give Ubisoft the boost it needs to ensure that this relatively late venture into the cluttered casual games market is not in vain.
By the way, the announcer guy's voice is kind of strange. It sounds like they just hired a random person rather than a real professional commercial voice guy.
I am skeptical of holographic games. I think outside of RTS or simple games, the graphics would be so bad, and the cost so high, there is no point to trying until the tech is there, which probably won't be for like 30 years.
WOW...I really dont know why they have a holographic projector sitting ther? I mean if it was a wii game they would show it on the t.v screen like ubisoft has done countless times before?
Miyamoto has spoken about playing off-screen before could this be it? Months after the Wii is out they launch the Wii-project? Well if any company can it certinly is Nintendo. Augmented reality. Damit im I just getting caught up in my fanboyism? It just looks like a weird way of showing off a game, considering how the usualy show people playing Wii games!
This could be it folks, or it could be a hox or a joke from ubisoft!!!
12. Before that it showed a girl playing the horse game on her DS. In fact, the hologram part was the only segment that wasn't a figure of speech of an actual game.
But I don't think it means anything, that peripheral would probably cost more than the system itself and would be too small to be that useful.
Nintendo has been working on holgraphic tech for a while now. In fact I think its a very real possibility that their next handheld could feture a holographic screen of some sort. Probably a pretty primative but still wow enducing version of it.
Hook up Jam Sessions to an actual amp and you'll be convince most people that you're playing an actual guitar, well, if they ignored the little brick in your hands.
