After teasing us with screen captures for weeks, Square-Enix has finally released a video for the
upcoming Wii title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. The clip is only 55 seconds long, half of which is the title screen attempting to materialize over a spinning crystal. But once the action starts you'll be treated to epic fights, airship shots, and plenty of overly-dramatic main character close-ups. Sounds like a
Final Fantasy game to us. Can't wait for the inevitable remake!

That's such a cool trailer. They weren't kidding when they said the main character was some kind of superhero. Being able to fly around like Superman is gonna rock.
The_aNew @ May 25th 2007 1:04PM
Yes! Yes! and YES!!!
looks too good to be true!
Thanks SE!
Grog @ May 25th 2007 1:05PM
Isn't it Crystal Bearers, not Ring Bearers?
CJC @ May 25th 2007 1:08PM
This really doesn't give any insight into multiplayer, which worries me a bit. It seems heavily centered on single player.
I'm sure it's just because it's the very first trailer though.
Chris @ May 25th 2007 1:10PM
Looks pretty good. I just might pick this one up.
Darkness @ May 25th 2007 1:11PM
CJC, Square Enix mentioned that it's single player focused, but there would be some multiplayer. No idea how that'll work after watching that video. Still, even if there isn't any multiplayer, I'm find with that. I just want a good single player experience.
Fernando Rocker @ May 25th 2007 1:16PM
Very nice soundtrack... at least Square Enix is very profesional, and this going to be a very good game.
JodyAnthony @ May 25th 2007 1:20PM
looks so freaking good.
SuperMario21 @ May 25th 2007 1:22PM
This will be a great game. I can't wait to hear more about it. Where are the haters Longshotx and Jack of all trades? Im pretty sure they will find something to hate on. They will be like, "OMG, look at the graphics. The graphics suck, you can't see the character's sweat and his clothes don't move in the wind!!! This is horrible!!" LOL
Paul Gale @ May 25th 2007 1:28PM
Square-Enix did a fine job with the original FF:CC on GameCube and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (wow, what a long name) is looking very nice. The art design of the game, from what we’ve seen so far, is very attractive. I really enjoyed the trailer and thought the music fit perfectly. I’d say that this is one Nintendo Wii game to definitely keep on your radar.
Wolfrider @ May 25th 2007 1:41PM
I had zero interest in this up until that trailer. That looks incredible! The battles look to be much more action oriented than the GC (or NDS) versions and it just looks... fun. All they need to promise me is a half decent online multiplayer option and I'll be sending SE employees birthday cards.
Muttley @ May 25th 2007 1:43PM
It looks good and best of all: it won't be delayed due to small user base. Like that other Final Fantasy.
Borat @ May 25th 2007 1:44PM
No turn-based battles? I'm in.
a dirty bastard @ May 25th 2007 1:45PM
it looks really good grafX wise, well as far as the wii grafX goes, i wanna see more.
Theta @ May 25th 2007 1:50PM
That looks pretty hot.
WillTheSecond @ May 25th 2007 1:55PM
Looking very good, including graphically, which is a big plus.
Antonio @ May 25th 2007 2:00PM
Good stuff. I might have to check this one out.
rinks @ May 25th 2007 2:05PM
Am I the only one that can't keep FF straight anymore? Seriously, between the numbering system and the spin-offs, I have no idea of what is coming out for which platform when. So this what, the Final Fantasy Legends: Dirge of Crystal Revenant XIII-2?
Jonathan Tran @ May 25th 2007 2:09PM
Yeah um, this game looks pretty damn good.
Is there really multiplayer?
Just_a_guy @ May 25th 2007 2:10PM
I think this is one of the best pieces of video game trailer music I have ever heard!
I wish they would release an early soundtrack on iTunes so I could hear the awsomeness.
serotoninzero @ May 25th 2007 2:14PM
Wait, really they said it's based off single player? That's kinda a downer. This is one of the few games I'd make my friends come over to play.
It looks really good, but I hope the multiplayer aspect is a big one.
generaldane @ May 25th 2007 2:15PM
wow me= impressed
kostaki @ May 25th 2007 2:26PM
this will be prolly one of the reasons why i end up buying a wii...besides from mario galaxies, metroid and zelda
student @ May 25th 2007 2:38PM
frankly, this rocks my socks. Its moved away from the party focus of the first game but made this far closer to an actiony normal Final Fantasy which I'm loving. It looks far more epic.
I hope this is great as after watching the trailer, it's on the top of my to buy list. I hope they do make another game in the vein of the first CC as well though (but keep this one as is).
Yourself @ May 25th 2007 2:50PM
I like that the amount of time that it takes to say the games name is longer than the amount of actual gameplay footage in that trailer.
On a side note, I'll almost definitely be buying this on it's release day.
James @ May 25th 2007 3:10PM
The combat bears more than a passing resemblance to Zelda -- which, of course, is pretty much the highest praise I could possibly heap on it. Good show.
RageOverdose @ May 25th 2007 6:14PM
Looking a lot like what the original CC shoulda been; more fluid. It doesn't seem as sluggish anymore, and I like the fact the camera isn't odd. And I hope there is substantial multiplayer, even if its just dungeon crawling with buddies.
And thank God there is no damn chalice to carry...Thank freakin' God...
Like the graphics also.
Malcom @ May 25th 2007 6:32PM
Daaaaaaaaamn!
kingofwale @ May 25th 2007 8:52PM
looks like a third person shooter.
well, if anyone can make a game look good on Wii (and DS), it's Enix. Good job. It's not next-gen graphics, but heck, it's prettier than anything on Wii right now.
Velops @ May 25th 2007 11:27PM
It's odd that despite being a spin-off series, it captures the sense of pure fun that the main series has been lacking recently. I felt that FF12 had too much of a Star Wars vibe, diluting what made the series feel unique.
I just love the celtic remix of the classic theme. It brings forth memories of when the fantasy elements were central to the games and not the sci-fi elements.
Purple Haze @ May 26th 2007 2:14AM
It looks too much like ff 12 for me. I'll still get it and I still liked 12, but they should've called ff 12 vagrant story 2.
darklink @ May 26th 2007 10:05AM
Yes! the first FFCC had horrible aiming with A button. Hopefully here you can use the pointer ability of the wiimote.
See third parties? Make a good game and you will get my $$.
chazz06 @ May 27th 2007 3:49AM
It looks good. Plain and simple. Hope the story and the gameplay are good too.
