Next Gears update will bring more achievements

Will be nice to have when the halo3 beta is over.

New achievements means the DLC is paid content and not free stuff. It's going to have to be good in order for me to pick it up.

For #2. It says auto-update. You don't have to pay for auto-updates.

Annex gametype is part of the auto-update which is free. The Hidden Fronts DLC is 800 MSP, but will be free in Sept. So if you're willing to wait until then, it will all be free including the achievements. Hope I'm right.

Since the game launched, Epic's been really generous and timely with the updates and DLC -- Annex has been a great addition and the new maps are definitely worth the $10.

How about allowing non-ranked games to get Achievements? I have a blast playing with my friends, but I refuse to hop on a ranked server with all the freaking idiots out there.

What amazing news! I simply cant wait until all the douchebags break the newest update and find more ways to weapon slide and hop out of the board! Yay for gears of war and those that ruin my gaming experience by glitching!

I already gave up on the idea that epic will work the bugs out so that the game runs clean without any exploits. If you dont expect much, then youre not let down as bad.

However...i WISH that achievements can be gotten through player matches..i agree with #7...people are soooo lame on ranked...i did like 3 matches and will never attempt it again...too much cheating and 11 year old kids calling everyone niggers and faggots...ill pass

Nice, this might make me go back to playing Gears. I only play every once in a while now and when I do, it's always Annex in Player Matches. Everyone always cheats in other gametypes but at least in Annex you respawn.

Uh, that means that the achievements won't come until September, I thought the policy was that you can't make achievements that you can't get without paying for?

Don't forget about all the rappers that hang out in ranked matches. Or am I the only one that gets those...

I'm very happy that new content continues to be provided to us by the developers. I admire this support towards their customers, regardless of whether I need to pay a small fee for it or not. And new achievements, that's fantastic for a Gears player like me. I don't want the "Seriously..." achievement, but I've already completed every other achievement, so it gives me some new goals in the game.

In regards to weapon sliding and host advantage, good teamwork combined with appropriate skill should overcome any amount of lag or weapon sliding. Host has to deal with their own issues such as blood splatter across the screen and slower revive times in execution. I'm not boasting, but I rarely play as host because, honestly, I do much better without it. I win 75% of the games I play without host. As for weapon sliding, if you expect someone to do it, plan strategies that play into their cheating. Call those individuals out in the lobby, report them, kill them and joke them about it. If you can't kill them, it's your own lack of skill and strategy. They're better than you. Deal with it.

For the record, I don't know how to weapon slide; my friends and I are just good enough to kill those that do it.

Does anyone know what is up with the achievements in gears. I have over 50 hosted games and around 150 headshots and still no achievements. None are in annex or glitched kills, straight up. But I hosted around 40 on the new maps and got atleast 75 headshots on the new maps. So are the new maps delaying achievements or what?
