New Tekken 6 fighter -- Miguel the matador

NeoGAF forum member neo2046 recently shared a number of scans from Japanese magazine Famitsu. The images show off Tekken 6, the highly anticipated fighting game from Namco coming to arcade and PS3 platforms and rumored to be headed to the Xbox 360. The scans unveil a new character, a The cast of Tekken 6 will be the largest of any Tekken game, implying that previous characters will return along with newbies such as Miguel. Confirmed new fighters also include Zafina and Leo, and Joystiq is lobbying to have our very own Ludwig Kietzmann included added to the team. Stay tuned.

My favarioute player is hworang.. as his fightings tricks are different.. and he is very stylish also.. i am his big fan and trying to learn his fighting trick in real life...

The popularity of fighting games if fast dwindling. There's no doubt in my mind that the next Tekken and Soul Calibur are going multi-platform to compensate for that fact. That said I'm not the biggest Tekken fan in the world, but if they throw in online (Xbox Live wise), you can count me in.

I thikn 3-d killed fighting games.
I loved the old Mortal Kombats and Street Fighters on the SNES. The new 3D fighters just don't appeal to me.
I guess thats why Smash Bros. does good, because its still a side scroller.

Well as long as Yoshimitsu looks kickass, which he's been doing a good job of in the Tekken series, I'll pick it up eventually.

This is prolly one game where i dont care if comes to 360 "AS WELL". BUT, I would flip my lid if it went 360 exclusive. Tho it would be nicer for the PS3 if it remain exclusive, which if anything it may go timed exclusive for PS3. Namco has always been a talented developer went it comes to the Playstations. Tekken 5 showed me that the PS2 could be capable of having better than xbox graphics.
I do have both the PS3 and 360. But most multi-platform games have me steering to the 360 version. Mainly for Live and achivements. But if Tekken were to come out on 360, those advantages wouldnt matter. First, the D-pad is atrocious, prolly the worst of any console released. Second, is online. Tho i want Tekken 6 to have online. Those matches could never be taken seriously for the simple fact that Tekken relies alot on split-second timing and not everyone has perfect connection. Even some of the fastest connections could still have a highly competitive match with just one slight bit of lag. A perfectly timed counter could turn to the end of the match instead of your "GREAT" comeback. I think Namco should put a disclaimer right before the online match or the first time your try and online fight.
That ends my 360 rant. Tho i cant wait for the 360 version of TeamFortress2. I'm more excited about that than Halo 2... ahem i mean Halo 3

And if they were announcing an exclusive new Soul Calibur game you wouldn't say the same thing. You would say, oh freagin sweet, new characters omgz. Instead you hint at how, somehow, all fighting games are starting to kinda suck, and they should bring it to all systems (aka yours). The fact that it's a PS3 exclusive attracts all of this negative attention.

Most likely it will come to the Xbox 360. As someone said earlier fighting games are becoming less and less popular. It wouldn't make since to make this game PS3 exclusive, especially with the pathetic PS3 install base and high development costs. Besides Xbox 360 graphics own PS3 graphics. And we have Rumble, Achievements, and Live.

I sincerely doubt that Tekken 6 goes multiplatform, Tekken's have always been playstation exclusive titles (except for a little tekken gba shovelware they did some years back). Development costs may be high, but not so much that it becomes unreasonable for them to release it on only one console. After all, its not as if this game is coming out tommorow or something, it would be a holiday season release at the EARLIEST, way more games will have been released, and far more people will have bought the system by that point.
And another thing, what is it with all this talk about him being a matador? Isn't that a flamenco dancer's outfit? I cant tell if they are full pants or not, but if they are, he is not wearing a matador costume.

Oh and i forgot one thing. Remember than Sony and Namco are chumming it up lately, with their joint venture Cellius. So im sure if there is a chance that tekken goes multi, sony is probably doing what it can to insist that it doesnt.

Sony and Namco have been chumming it up? Really... cause recently Namco Bandai went and cut games for the PS3.. out of all the next gen consoles, PS3 has the least support by namco (Granted 360 has 1 more planned game then the PS3)
Second, Tekkens were always playstation games? So was Ridge Racer. Ridge Racer 64 and Ridge Racer DS were not made by Namco. So RR6 was the first Ridge Racer not excluxive to Playstation. Oh, and don't forget Ace Combat.
Finally, when the origonal teaser for Tekken6 came out, the 6 was in the same font as Spiderman/PS3.... now the 6 isn't.
So.. with namco pledgeing 24 games to 360, and 23 games to PS3, who's to say that this one can't be multi-platform? Hell, with the 37 games pleged for Wii, there may be a Wii port of Tekken 6 as well!

Two things. One, I'm under the impression that this will end up on the X360. I mean, if Ace Combat, Katamari and Ridge Racer can all make the jump, so can this. And I'll welcome it with open arms: the more fighting games, the better.
Secondly, NeoGAF as a source... I thought you guys knew better... :vomits:

So you definitely never owned a Gamecube. Which actually has been my fave controller, nothing I've tried ever felt better in my hand. (That is for a game controller... sickos) But the d pad, seriously wtf? Couldn't invest in even child sized ergonomics on that Nintendo?
