Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates new scans and trailer
Square-Enix has uncorked the bottle and released new images and information from the upcoming DS title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. The latest scans come from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (of course) and show some gorgeous in-game scenes along with concept art sprinkled throughout. Those are damn good visuals right there. Can't wait for the inevitable Kingofwale Diamond and Pearl comparison.

That actually looks really good. The DS needs a good co-op action RPG (Dawn of Mana was okay...)

Looks really good.
Is is just me, or did the thing that popped out that cauldron(and was tossed at a boss earlier in the footage) look a lot like the gooey bomb they revealed for Smash Bros. Brawl? Hmm...

Let's hope this one doesn't suck like the one on GC did.

call me daft, but i haven't been paying attention to this game.
any word on whether the combat will be the traditional FF turn-based combat or the new style real-time system as in FFXII?
if it's turn-based i'll probably buy this. if it's the new style, i'll most likely pass.

man I loved the GC version of this game... I hope kumi tanioka is doing the music again...
The main probalem with the GC version was getting enough people together in one house with GBAs ans connector cables and getting them to all come back every once in a while to play some more. Hopefully with the DS and Wii versions... this can be less cumbersome :(

@rare hare
I assume it will be like the GC version... which is very action rpg-ish. You assign certain actions to a list of combat actions (stuff like attack, defense, magic, heal, items), and in combat you can cycle through the preassigned things with the shoulder buttons, and the A button will perform whatever action you have selected at the time. It was pretty simple, but it worked and didn't require any menus in the midst of combat (unless you picked up a good magic and wanted to equip it right away, then your friends might have had to defend you for a while :)
