Everybody hurts, everybody cries, SingStar 90s tracklist

Are you a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world? Well, if you think being filled with plastic is fantastic, then you'll be happy to know that SingStar 90s is coming to the love shack. The game popped up on a New Zealand store with an August 3rd release attached to it. You can't touch this compilation of the '90s most addicting, and therefore ultimately annoying, songs; full list can be found after the break.
So, tell us what you want, what you really, really, want to see on this compilation if you notice anything missing from the '90s? Maybe they'll add it in the PS3 SingStar download service. There's always the debate between which is tougher: SingStar or Karaoke Revolution? Well, if you missed it the first time, our intrepid Kyle Orland reported on this a few months ago. Checka checka check it out!

Can't touch this.
Threnody @ May 29th 2007 10:54AM
I don't care how stereotypical it is for me to say this: Lovefool kicks ass.
Hirsbrunner @ May 29th 2007 11:04AM
Mmmm Bop! by Hanson FTW!
BiggerBoat @ May 29th 2007 11:13AM
I think it's telling that Sony are still releasing games on the PS2 over its bigger bro. This game would take a team next to no time to port to the PS3, lets face it, it's not renound for it's stunning visuals or complex physics engine yet it remains a PS2 game.
Another example is GoW2, would have been a bit of work to port and update visuals etc. but would have given the PS3 a much needed boost, they could have even done a TP and released it later on PS2.
Yes PS2 is still a big money maker but for how long, Sony needs to throw everything they have at their new system in an effort to get even a slightly respectable number of people buying the thing.
Also is 'addicting' a word in yankeeland? I see it all the time on forums so I'm thinking either half the posters didn't graduate or it's only us in the UK that use 'addictive'.
Tweak @ May 29th 2007 11:16AM
Woo! I finally got a Playlist of songs to add to my DJ roster... Too bad no one in their right mind would request these songs >.>
p1nseeker @ May 29th 2007 11:18AM
@Biggerboat
Iknow what you mean, they also say "could care less" when they mean "couldn't care less" so they are saying the exact opposite of what they are intending to say!

Ummm, what? When has supporting your previous consoles ever been a bad thing? Microsoft and Nintendo could take lessons.
Also, you forget, Singstar for PS3 is coming this year and unlike the PS2 versions, can have new songs downloaded via their iTunes like store. So yes, it is coming on PS3. But no, PS2 doesn't have the same advantage PS3 does when it comes to DLC.
And yes, Addicting is a word. It's just a rarely used word. www.dictionary.com next time you feel like being humourous towards us inferior yanks, ya limey bastard.
BiggerBoat @ May 29th 2007 11:27AM
They pronounce aluminium 'aluminum', where did that extra syllable go?
Anam @ May 29th 2007 11:31AM
@BiggerBoat
I don't have a dictionary on hand, but after a quick check of www.dictionary.com and Microsoft Word spell check, it appears that both are words over here in the US. I'll have to do more research to find out if they're supposed to be used differently.
@p1nseeker
Yeah, I can't stand it when people do that.
Kinsella @ May 29th 2007 11:32AM
That gamebox artwork makes my eyes bleed.
R2P2 @ May 29th 2007 11:36AM
Sadly, I think I know these tracks better than I know the tracks from either Guitar Hero game.
Diskoboy @ May 29th 2007 11:54AM
Ah, the 90's....
Perhaps the worst decade that music has ever known. Of course, this one is even worse, so I really can't say much.
onepointfivevolt @ May 29th 2007 11:59AM
addicting is a verb. addictive is an adjective. get them right!
cc123 @ May 29th 2007 11:59AM
I hate to say it but I actually like some of those songs. I'm disgusted with myself...
@Biggerboat
I responded to your post post in the buried article.

Problem is the target audience of this (10 year old girls) wont pay $600 for a console
However they will buy a PS2 for $100 or still have one from their dancemat and other singstar games
I agree with you about GOW2 though
Ninja Penguin @ May 29th 2007 12:01PM
They deserve criminal charges for putting Radiohead and R.E.M. in there.
Jon @ May 29th 2007 12:01PM
Plenty of cheesy songs for drunken nights.
/buy
sheppy @ May 29th 2007 12:07PM
Okay, I'll ask again, then. Since when is it a bad thing for a company to support previous hardware? I mean, PS2 hasn't even entered the "ton o bargain bin" release phase yet. They are throwing support to a bunch of people instead of saying "fuck you, buy PS3."
This is hella goodwill towards your consumer base and generally assures that, once those consumers DO upgrade, they will be looking at PS3 just because of all the PS2 love they got.
Agent 43 @ May 29th 2007 12:13PM
Those have got to be the worst songs ever made! I don't know about you, but when I think of the 90s, I think of grunge music... not lame pop tracks.
Hirsbrunner @ May 29th 2007 12:46PM
I can't wait to sing #5. Achy Breaky Heary.
"Don't break my heary, my achy breaky heary."
Tacoman @ May 29th 2007 12:52PM
B52s AND REM? Much love for the Athens, GA. groups! One might even say "You can't touch that!"
Charron @ May 29th 2007 1:17PM
@Tacoman
One might, but then one would get slapped by one other's backhand.
And I agree with Ninja Penguin, it's a damn shame. Still want them both represented in Guitar Hero, though.
why not the LS2LS7? @ May 29th 2007 1:42PM
BiggerBoat:
If you're gonna make fun of someone else's language skills, you should be careful to spell 'renowned' correctly when doing so.
Sheesh.
konajinx @ May 29th 2007 1:52PM
Wow, "Love Shack" in a music game AGAIN? What were the odds?
Rubang B @ May 29th 2007 2:05PM
But "Love Shack" was a single in 1989, after it was on the album Cosmic Thing in 1988. 90's my balls!
Loki @ May 29th 2007 3:53PM
So gay....
Rubang B @ May 29th 2007 7:35PM
Hey Loki there's something wrong with your computer. It accidentally wrote the word "gay" when you meant to type "I don't like these songs."
Man what a waste of a comment. The internet's not a big truck you know.
BiggerBoat @ May 30th 2007 5:31AM
@ why not the LS2/LS7?
I'm just messing, I'm Scottish so dont really care how much you guys murder the English language, I'm still riled up after watching Braveheart 10 years ago!
@ sheppy
I dont think continued PS2 love will necessarily help future PS3 sales, SNES didn't ensure N64's diominance and the N64 didn't ensure GC's market share. Apart from the brand the PS3 is a completely different beast from its predecessor, one being a luxury, high end media centre, the other being an affordable, mainstream games machine.
BiggerBoat @ May 30th 2007 5:38AM
Oh and cc123, I responded to your response!
Loki @ May 30th 2007 2:21PM
Hey 28 thanks for the PC rant.. But gay fits this game period.
lord_of_hair @ May 31st 2007 1:12AM
I agree with Rubang B, theirs no need for hating on Joystiq
as for me I'm looking forward to this game, I have Legends, Pop and 80's and will pick this one up when it comes out
also as someone said above where's the grunge?
no Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Perl Jam etc wtf?
-Lord of Hair
erin @ Jul 31st 2007 9:54PM
I'd like to see Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins too, but maybe they are saving the grunge ones for a specially made singstar: grunge or something, that would be pretty cool. hurt your throat though :)
