I've played the past few Splinter Cell games, and I didn't exactly love most of them. Conviction on the other hand looks just right for me! Can't wait to play it. I'm excited to try it out!

Can't be said. Ubisoft makes good games mostly and i have full faith in them. Conviction also sounds interesting and looks brilliant....but what we see can be a sham sometimes.

Time will tell.

Lurking in the shadows is fun but how many times can you do it over and over again SC DA was pretty good but i think conviction will livin up gameplay

I am slightly nervous that Ubi may not include a multiplayer mode. Has there been any news on this?

There will be a multiplayer mode.

The story arc has to be coming to a close at this point. His daughter is dead, he has pretty much nothing left. And I guess Third Echelon is corrupt and he's bringing it down in Conviction?
I'd like to see a prequel to the first Splinter Cell. Perhaps the first few missions are during his time as a Navy Seal (opening up co-op gameplay options) and then transitions into the stealth style of the first game while the story covers how he became an operative in third echelon.

I believe it's a creative step in the right direction. It's smart that they're trying to inject something new into the Splinter Cell world. There's only so many times you can hide in the shadows and wait to attack. It gets boring after a while. With Conviction, it's a whole new atmosphere that I'm pretty interested in getting my hands on.

I loved these games, but I just could not get into SC DA at all. It is still sitting there...waiting for me to pick it up and finish it. So I welcome a change in the game.

Three cheers for Ubisoft!

Hip hip hurray!....

Looks great so far...I'll be picking it up if it continues to look this interesting. I've always been a fan of the Splinter Cell series but I welcome the new venture that Ubisoft is presenting. If it plays anything like the Borne Identity movies I'll be all over it.

I don't mind a new direction, I hope it is good though. I'd also like to see Splinter Cell going back to its roots soon, weather or not this concept is successful.

They need to fix the plot. Sam technically did his mission and could have went back to the NSA and Lambert in my game. Why is he still on the run?

Well given the story line of double agent it would be good to start off conviction with him swimming ashore from the boat at the end of Double Agent in the city with the agency disavowing him or compromised and trying to regain his identity. Not a stretch since DA started off with Sam breaking out of jail.

Could be a good change, Ill play to find out, but I could see how the gameplay changes might not work so well for multiplayer.

I love the idea Tim has of a prequel. A young Sam Fisher as a Seal, or just joining the Third Echelon. How cool would that be. As for the new direction, I know I would miss sneaking around in the shadows, but then again, with all the graphics improvements, it would be a nice change to actually be able to see the surroundings in broad daylight.

I think they r puting sort of the same gameplay as they have in Assassins Creed in this new Splinter Cell, that could be a good thing. But just give me Assassins Creed that is a nice mix of the new S.C. and Prins of Persia.

So they're banking on a slightly different form of a modern-day Assassin's Creed, then?

I'm all for the change. Frankly, the franchise had been getting a bit stale of late. I didn't even play the last one, and from what I read that was pretty much a change of pace too.

Seems to me, they know the franchise has been getting stale for a while and they tried to subtley change things up last time around. It didn't work all that well, and this time they are fully embracing change.

This is an interesting, creative turn for the series. New territory for gaming, too; I've never played a game like this before.

This may be my most anticipated game at the moment.

I think its about time for a change. I liked the first one because it was very innovative and looked cool, but I got bored of it quickly, never even finished it.

Smells of Assassin's Creed to me.
Ubisoft are doing that one too aren't they?

Someone must have thought it was easier just to use the engine and call it Splinter Cell did they?

Seems strange that they would bring out an 'innovative' new game (Assassin's) then bring out another that sounds exactly the same!!

Apparently the Assassins Creed and Conviction dev teams came up with the crowd interactivity idea on their own. I'm sure they shared at least a brainstorming session though.

I'm looking forward to this. The series so far has been quality and while Double Agent stumbled in a few areas, I thoroughly enjoyed it...probably moreso than the previous titles. Mixing things up in Conviction could prove to be very cool. The animation system alone sounds incredible and if the game controls right this will be a blast.

Looks good. From what I saw in the trailer it looks to have some Bourne Identity style fighting not just sneaking up behind enemies and stabbing or choking them. I liked the infiltration theme of DA but it didn't play well during the Hideout missions and got really boring... the only saving grace that game had was running around the streets in the middle of a warzone. I loved the urban areas in that game and hopefully this one will have some too... I really hope I can punch an innocent bistandard just to cause a distraction and then run through a crowd... wait this is starting to sound like AC more and more now but I just hope it's as good...
