Two new DS colors coming to Japan

It's a special kind of guy who can pull off a pink DS. It's a look, a choice, a statement, and if you're not sure you should be making it -- you shouldn't. But, a "Metallic Rose" DS (one of the new colors coming to Japan on June 23), that's another animal entirely. That's a color that says "Yes, I have a heart, but a hard, cold world has turned it from flesh to metal. Is there one special somebody who can unlock it? Let's find out." It's completely different from pink.

Now the other color, "Gloss Silver," (which you can see after the jump) says one of two things: 1) I have ¥16,800 I simply have to spend or 2) I'm buying it to partner with the DS Phat in a hilarious, stop-motion remake of Twins. And before you can check CantMissMovieIdeas.com, yes, we already copyrighted that. We don't know if these will come stateside, but Nintendo likes making money, so we think it's a safe bet. Let's hope for the sake of stop-motion buddy comedy fans everywhere that they do.

well thats a decent pink. I don't like the current one in the lite version because its too bright, thus I'm quite satisfied with my pink phat.

But hell, if I'm to upgrade to a lite it'd take a nice green to convince me more thuroughly

Colors sucks.

But heck, the girls would love them.

Also, together with the (as you hard-core-old-timer-gamer (as I call you) call them) non-games, DS now makes perfect gift to a girl. Flowers were two years ago. Champaign was last year. Hey, why not to try the DS in the fancy color - color possibly only a girl could appreciate.

P.S. When something is released in many colors, always recall female audience. Women have extra blue (or green?) color sensor - and can see really more colors compared to men with his puny three sensors. (That's why we men can never differentiate color of turquoise - which is it blue or green? A women would tell it immediately.)

I am a huge DS fan, so it pains me to say this but, these colors SUCK. Come on, they practically look like the same old White and Pink we had before. Why don't these colors have any color? We need stuff like green and red and blue and purple. Where's my lime green DS? I would buy a SECOND DS Lite just to have one in lime green.

i don't know about lime green but a sort of mint or pistachio green actually would be really nice.

but i'm pretty content with my white ds lite. all i use it for at the moment is to play mario kart while i'm takin a dump anyway.

dude I so miss my old fat game boy that was punk-as-hell green. and my clear game boy pocket. some different colors please! you know people will buy them just because they print money.

no no no... not lime green. My GBC was lime green. I'm talking about a cool forest green a la zelda, or even a muted light green like the special edition celebi GBA http://p0kemonweb.free.fr/dossiers/c2.gif

I guess I'd take lime in a pinch though.

Colors of course aren't that important, but add to console aesthetics. They do sort of serve like clothing in a way to describe your personality to others without saying anything, especially with handhelds which you would be more likely to be seen with in public.

What's the point of the pink? It looks almost the same as the other pink. If that silver is actually metallic-looking rather than just glossy grey, then it's going to look very nice.

I just wish we'd get some more interesting colours from Ninty. Green? Orange? Purple? Red?

Hell, I'm still yearning for a matte black rather than the glossy fingerprint hoarding crap that the current "Enamel Black" seems to be. Getting the blues here in Europe wouldn't be so bad either.

For now it seems I'll stick with my white... But I am the type who likes something a bit different to the norm so I'll keep my fingers crossed for green (or orange).
