here's the thing, if you want to cancel Oblivion for PSP, JUST DO IT. don't drag people along with ya pointlessly.

Frankly, with Crisis Core and God of War coming soon, we really don't care as much.

haha, learning ps3's complex architecture allowed them to put in features that will also be available on the x360 and pc versions....yah that's a good arguement for the ps3.

all those optimizations for the tricky PS3 architecture allow it to do the same things that the 360 and pc versions can do (via download updates). That's a really good arguement to justify the Ps3's crappy dev tools and ridiculously complex architecture...

@ jsn

I take it you did not read the interview. The interview mentioned nothing about making a better game for the PS3, but rather creating the exact same experience on both platforms. They were successful in that respect. The extra time they spent on the PS3 version was to make sure all of the conversions were done correctly rather than giving the PS3 a crappy port job (Like many other developers do).

Anyway... excellent interview. I cannot wait to see what they do with the next Elder Scrolls.

@jsn:

You're a moron. You posted twice, 4 minutes apart, and said the same thing reworded a little.

Here's your can of STFU. Please open it and take a big gulp.

Actually, it may not be a huge difference, but there is an improvement on the PS3 version from 360 in graphics, loading and framerate. Yes, framerate, that one that normally seems to be the first to take a hit on ports so far. The developers themselves have basically said the ps3 version runs better than the 360 version because they took the time to take advantage of what the ps3 offers.
We keep getting interviews and sound-bites from developers that say the ps3 has a ton of untapped potential, and once they get into it and learn to work with it we'll see incredible things. Why is that hard for some fanboys to accept? I know the 360 will get better as well; it can't possibly be like the original xbox and have it's swan-song in the first year, right?

This shows that it takes more than a quick port job to get the same game on both systems, as well as what can happen when a little extra work is undertaken during the process. This is a game that should be purchased based on the simple fact that they took the time to do it right, not to mention it being a great game besides.

The PS3 version of oblivion is more than slightly better than the 360 version,because its been confirmed on certain sites....that even with the upgrade download for the 360 the framerate isnt as good as the PS3 version and there is still pop ups and slow load times....so yeah...the PS3 version is as good as the high end PC.

The PS3 loads faster and looks better graphically, the 360/PC version has awesome downloads...

its a fair enough trade off for me.

Now someone's deluding themselves, Oblivion for PC runs rings around the console versions with the right rig and settings.

Sadly for me, i'm still waiting. Ordered OBLIVION from DVDBOXOFFICE.COM nearly seven weeks ago with no show so far. They won't resend until 8 weeks have passed. Assuming another few weeks for delivery and we'll be into July and some new games will be out.

Thank god for FFXII to keep me going on PS3.
