I loved Viva Pinata and I'm not ashamed! It was the very first game where I was able to get 1000/1000 achievements! I want some DLC for VP!

So, how much did MS pay Cliffy to admit he plays Viva Pinata?

I bought it preowned today and got a suprise. Somebody had bought a console bundle with VP and traded it in as soon as they got it, without even removing the seal. I got a brand new game at a cut down price :D RESULT!

That game is so damn addictive. I had to take it back to the rental store and not look at it ever again it took over 2 weeks of my life.

usually my craptastic launch X360 freezes 1x every 3-4 hours. VP froze my X360 like no other game i've ever seen. 3-4x/hour at it's worst.

VP was kind of cute and fun. it was tough for me to get into it when it would freeze so often and so back to GameFly it went.

it's rather sad that it hasn't been selling well. it was one of my favorite games, and if there were to be a spin off, I would be sure to buy it.
DLC would be nice too.

It IS rather addictive - I was actually drawing "garden plans" at some point. Not to mention staying up until 4 in the morning just to breed that one extra Pinata. :D

I confess, I confess...I sit at home in my comfy chair, poked by the soft cussions, with a dishwasher rack strapped to my chest playing Viva Pinata. And I Am Not Ashamed! All hail the mighty cluckles!

Sorry, this game did not appeal to me. No matter what anyone says, MS/RARE needs help trying to attract the general audince to X360 with games of this nature.

This game has to be one of the most original games MS & Rare have produced. I recently lent the game to a seasoned Gears player and he put Gears down in favour of Viva' he absolutely loves it. finds it addictive and can go back to it everytime and have something new to do.

Viva Pinata deserves to be up there with the best.

Yeah, what the hell. Maybe %1 of people on the internet don't like. They don't even hate it, they don't like. And even then, they usually keep it because it was for someone else(spouse, child, roomate. Whatever) and EVEN THEN all these people are talking from experience(meaning they bought it) and yet... Sales are still not good...

Okay, this is what they need to do, change the cover to an omniously weileded shovel beating the crap out of a bunch of crazed Pinatas(with a psychopathic smile and red glowing eyes) while a bunch are eating a fallen pinata in the back. Re-rate it teen for um, "Simulating acid trip" and you're good to go!

I made a terrible error when I let my wife play the demo, thinking she might like it. That was the day before Mother's day. She made me go out on Mother's day and buy the game at Target (it was only $29.99) and then she played it for nearly 12 hours straight while I busted my ass mowing the lawn, cleaning the house and catering to her every demand. She's an addict and now so am I.

I'm sure they had to PAY him so much money to admit he liked a genuinely good game...it's really hard getting intelligent people to admit they like a game that is actually good w/o shooting stuff or having some sort of "adult" content in it...

I really enjoyed the game, and although my girlfriend never picked it up...it was the one game that she would actually sit down and get excited watching me play...i respect those who played and didn't like....but to think that he got "paid" to admit he liked a game that every reviewer has claimed to be a sleeper hit, along with a great majority of players admitting that they got hooked after they played it is pretty much ignorant...

ignorant = one who chooses to ignore readily available truths in the name of falsely held beliefs (my def. but you get it)

I don't care what anybody says, I am a hardcore gamer...but Viva Pinata is fucking great! It is so addicting. I love it, plus it is a great change from just shooting and ultra violence. So many people are insecure so they won't even try it. Probably afraid they'd love it.

Like many of the stories, I got the game for my girlfriend and then spent weeks wrestling the controller from her so I could watch my Buzzlegums fill the garden with honey jars. It's definately a game that should make me question why I'm playing it, and not tearing down a track or blowing up friends with grenades - but it's just too fun to concern myself.

Serious respect to MS and Rare for creating both a really good new IP and fun gameplay.

I played the demo, and what seemed like and what was planned to be a few minutes turned into an hour (I would've played longer only I had to rush to work...). It was good, addictive fun and the graphics were brilliant for a children's game.
I wouldn't buy it, but if I saw it cheap somewhere and I was bored, maybe.

that comment about a 20 year old with a fascination of shooting or blowing up stuff is a bit worrying.
I love shooting games myself, but all these war games, they convince people that war is 'fun' and then they go and join the US army.
For that reason, If I was developing a game like Call of Duty or Medal of Honour, I'd make sure to have the message that comes across is that war never solves anything and that WW2 is our reminder that we should never , ever, listen to our dictators (eg. George Bush) and go to war.

I loved Viva Pinata, reminded me of a game that Nintendo would make, and coming from Rare I was surprised. The game proved to me that Rare hasn't completley lost it yet.

Sorry, I had some kind of liberal seizure. Please take your tired, naive canards and carefully transport them to a relevant thread where someone cares.

not gonna lie...i spent 20 minutes on the demo and thought to myself - youd either have to be a woman, 8-11 years old, or slightly to severely mentally retarded to enjoy this game.

im not knocking those of you who do love it, but it definitely was not for me as i do not fit into any of the demographics outlined above.

cheers

Rare is one of the best development companies in the world, and they deserve their awesome reputation with great games like Viva Piniata as their most recent triumph!

Another thumbs up for VP from me!

It's the only game I know that makes incest and cannibalism fun! ;o) (You know what I'm talking about!)

Any game that has the 'Time-Machine Effect'* (feels like you've been playing for 10 minutes but when you look at the clock 5 hours have actually passed) must be doing something right in my book.

Yup. I agree with wtfmate? and Grant. I am a English Uni Student who loves the Halo 3 long time and anything with guns in... gears of war etc... BUT VP now has me and my house mate (another 360 owner) planning gardens, and setting up intensive chilli farms to build funds our grand designs. I feel the only shame is i cant some how corrupt the island, with this many creatures i want to go conquer something, or have I just been playing too much Total War?!?
