Of course, this makes perfect sense. Who doesn't know that GoW demographics are the most well-read groups in this world. They will TOTALLY go out and purchase a book. :)

@Kingofwhale: HEY! Some of them might have read the Goosebumps books and are willing to venture out into other literature! Have you thought about that? So inconsiderate! Jerk.

Super secret exerpt from the GoW novelization:

The locusts were relentless, they kept comming from the ground and I couldn't land a grenade close enough to collapse the structure. I grimaced and leaned back against the burnt out husk of an automobile, I could feel the locust closing in so I grasped my shotgun over my head an blindly fired over my suitable cover. I took out the closest locust who fell near my cover and sent warm blood cascading over the car like a valentines day carwash.

I huridly started to reload my shotgun, perfect timing, I managed to do it without skipping a beat.

BINK

I pressed the X button and paused to see what achievement I had gotten. Apparently I had done 10 perfect reloads in a row, I celebrated a little inside and pressed the X button again.

BINK

A message from l33tpwnage was waiting for me so I pressed the x button to see what he had to say. After quickly navigating the menu system I read his message:

Haha you sux0r are you still trying to pass the single player capaign? Why don't you just give up and buy a Wii j00 n00b?

I quickly fired a message back telling him that I'd be happy to take him on any day In a deathmatch if he only had the time, but I accidentally canceled the message and had to retype it all again before I sent it.

I pressed X again and was immediately back in the action.

BINK

SchwetyVajina had just logged on and sent me an invitation to play UNO. I'd dealt with SchwetyVajina before and was looking for a little payback. I quickly pressed the X button and sleected to join Schwety in the UNO game.

UNO loaded up quickly and as the game began I felt my heart race...

I haven't seen a joystiq story about it yet; Is joystiq aware that Boom! Studios announced a Gears of War Comic Book in the most recent Previews Catalogue?

Marcus went back to his dad's house because his father had stored a file, containing a complete mapping of the Locust tunnels, in his secret, underground, laboratory.

Duh!

Steven Kent is actually a damn good writer, and wrote the definitive book on the history of video games.

I suggest you all read The Ultimate History of Video Games. (AKA - The First Quarter: The First 25 years of videogames)

Shagittarius, that was by far the best comment I've ever seen on Joystiq, and I spend entirely too much time here. Toche, sir, touche

Here's the solicitation info for it, but it doesn't seem to be a big story anywhere. You think more people would be talking about it.
