I've toyed with a bunch of different 3rd party cooling products, and I believe that by far the best one is the Antec Notebook cooler, see here in this auction:

Even though it's not designed for the 260, it fits perfectly under it (yes, you do have to lay your 360 flat). It makes some noise, but not as much as the 360 itself, and there are high and low speeds. Ever since I put this under my 260 I've had ZERO lockups. (The Nyko actually did not solve my launch 360's freezing problems). I wholeheartedly recommend this product.

MDB - I was wondering if someone made something like that. It would be a great idea for the system.

I lay mine horizontally, but keep a component switcher underneath to raise it up so that the vents on the bottom have room. I've had no problem since then at all.... been months since even my last freeze.

I may just grab that to deal with the huge amount of dust circulating around my 360. It also seems to be safer than the intercooler because it does connect directly to the power port on the 360. I wonder how much it is.

A intercooler thats powered by the usb port should be alright, but I'd like to see a stand-like cooler that blows air up through the bottom of the 360, that would work in its natural air-flow.

Richard,

Are you talking about something like the offering from Pelican's Fan Stand?

I had the Nyko intercooler and then noticed some scorching marks around my power cord. Took it off and have had no overheating problems even after hours of play in the Texas heat. No more third party accessories for me!

personally i just point one of the jets from my A/C towards the back of the unit, which is now chilling next to my TV instead of within the glass case of death.
It doesn't even hiccup anymore.
