BlizzCon attendees to get beta key for 'upcoming Blizzard game'
Another great reason to hit up BlizzCon August 3 and 4 at the Anaheim Convention Center: all attendees will receive, in addition to other swag, a beta key for "an upcoming Blizzard game." Though nondescript, our initial reaction is to think the beta is for Starcraft II -- a very likely candidate, given its recent unveiling, its perceived progress, and that Blizzard has yet to reveal any other upcoming titles. However, the secretive developer could also be working on, say, a World of Warcraft expansion. We're not getting our hopes up until Blizzard announces what game is being beta tested.
Also revealed as swag for the event is the pictured Murloc Suit that you can give your WoW avatar. Other swag will be "announced in a future update."

I would want to go get my beta key for The Frozen Jihad/SC2 but it costs moneyz and is too far. When will there be a Blizzard event for Europe?

I'd piss myself with excitement is there was ANOTHER Blizzard game. That would just be like...amazing. There's so many awesome games coming out in 2007 and 2008 for PC, another Blizzard title would rape.

Seeing as starcraft2 isn't going to be released in 2007, I doubt theyd be releasing beta keys so soon, I also doubt that they would already be at the beta stage for any wow expansion as they released burning crusade not long ago, its still selling like hotcakes (what are hotcakes anyways? just hot cakes or something else?) I'd like it to be a diablo sequel but... hmm I want

Well, that clinched it. Ima be at Blizzcon this August. My heart goes out to all ya poor blighters what don't live in CA.
Now, the question is, does this give you Neutral with the Murlocs, and Hostile for both Alliance and Horde while worn? WaterBreathing? Can you at least do the Murky dance while wearing it? who cares.. It's a murloc costume. awww yeah....

Maybe it means they're not being given a key for anything specific, just a shot at being in any Beta that comes up in the future.

My guess is that they'll give you a beta key for StarCraft 2, but the beta won't actually start until early next year or something.

I so totally saw this on a different site like a week before it was even announced. I forget the URL but I think it was call World of Newscraft. The Blizzard version is way better though. However, it's still pretty funny to think that blizzard might have gotten an idea from a fan fic site. I wish I could re-roll as a murloc.

Actually, a friend of mine has a close contact in Blizz who said Diablo 3 will be unveiled at Blizzcon. I know people say crap like this all the time, but I'm not making this up-this same source told him SC2 would be announced before Blizzcon, so I tend to believe it. You don't have to take my word for it, but remember it when Blizzcon rolls around and see.
