Exercise bike gets attachment for PSP
Exercise is boring, we all know it, otherwise we'd be out there jogging across the hills instead of playing Halo 2. A new kit for Trixter's Total Body X-Bike attempts to bridge the gap between über-fun gaming and extra-boring stationary biking, but only a little. The X-Bike Sony PSP Kit attaches to the front of the bike to hold a PSP for your viewing pleasure. You won't be able to play God of War: Chains of Olympus while biking (we encourage you to try, of course), but movies are a go, and if you're one of those cheery lads who have bought UMDs, consider yourself "hooked up".

Just another not to buy a PSP if you ask me

I like to see an upgrade or a mod for the psp to come out so you can use it like the bike for the PS2, where you play racing games with the pedals and handle bars

Get your own PSP!

See, if this did something like show your calories burned, or even made a corny fake course to look at, ok.
But if it just holds your psp so you can watch movies, why not just put your exercise bike in front of your full size TV?

Is this some effort to weed out the lower Darwin award applicants?

That does seem like the logical idea, but some people don't necessarily have the space to move their exercise bike in front of their TV.
I know that I wouldn't be able to move mine without spending an hour of rearranging my furniture, thus getting rid of the need to exercise in the first place.

This is another of those almost good products.
I agree with #5 about this being better if it the psp interacted with your workout; then again my gym has wifi setup, and between this and the remote play functions being implemented between the ps3 and psp, this would be a good alternative to foxnews and the sitcoms that always seem to be on the TVs where I go.
Of course, the chances of any gym having one of these setup on a bike for their members is pretty much nil.

Finally! I can watch all of my exciting 7" screen UMDs that I paid the same price for a DVD for while exercising, somebody at X-Bike is due for a pay rise!
Oh and whosmav here's a thought... go buy a PS2... I can't believe some of the... nevermind

Through you could easily just place your psp on the book holder attachments most of these bikes come with, instead of paying whatever it costs

are umds discontinued yet?

I've been playing a lot of Catan on Xbox Live lately while riding the exercise bike. Still don't have those last two achievements for victory points in ranked-match play, though. You've gotta play a lot to get those.
