The upcoming Ninja Gaiden Sigma for PlayStation 3 will reward players with Yellow Essence, the game's currency, based on the amount of time you played the demo, currently available via the PlayStation Network.
With just under a month to go before Sigma sneaks onto North American PS3s (and even less for Japan and European gamers), Team Ninja is giving you a reason to play through the demo over and over again. The series has in all its iterations has attempted to up the ante in difficulty, so starting out with a bit of extra money for health potions couldn't hurt.

If I were inclined to spend $600+ on a PS3 and game, it would be this game. And I already own Black.

I already spent my $600 AND own Black as well. Sigma was very disappointing for me. Save your $600 for MGS4 or hopefully something that will come out that will be worth it besides movies... (applies to multi-console owners only)

3: Really? Your disappointment is...disappointing. God, my writing sucks today.
Antyhing particular to the game that did it, or was it the $60 (or equivalent) price tag for a remake of a game you already own?

@Craigo,
It was simply the fact that I expected more than just a higher resolution and a few more polys. More enemies on screen, more atmospheric effects, more detailed architecture. I expected Ninja Gaiden taken to the Motorstorm level. I played it for about 15 minutes before I just shut it off. It's just too exact.

I wouldn't decide whether or not to play this game based on the demo alone. The demo showed off a lot of potential but it's still just a demo.
Maybe it's just that I've played through NG, and NG Black all the way through once each but played through the Ninja Fortress level like 300 times but the demo was "meh" for me also but I'm still definitely planning on playing thgrough this again, the best parts weren't teh opening level, it was the game as a whole.
Number one it's been a year or so since I played through the others and playing through this game a thrid time with fully redone 1080p graphics and new twists and surprises here and there isn't a bad thing.
If you haven't played through the game ever, or it's been a while I would still expect this to be a good title, but if you've spent the last years doing speed runs through Black then, well...

Man this looks sweet. I don't have a PS3 but I'd still like to play it.

is it just me or would team ninja have been better off with a newer sequel (ie. a new Ninja Gaiden). Why remake a game that's been remade with Black already?

What does that even mean?
"I played it for about 15 minutes before I just shut it off."
That's about how long i played Motorstorm for, before realising how freaking boring it was.

That means Motorstorm looks amazing and clearly sets itself apart from previous generation games. I'm not saying Motostorm was exciting or anything. You played it about as long as I did.

I wonder if they're putting this on the PS3 to test the waters for Ninja Gaiden 2 on the PS3. Hmmmm...

I already played through Black. Any incentive to get the PS3 version now? No?

I already owned both original Ninja Gaiden/Black edition on Xbox, I download and played on my PS3 and it pretty much the same except prettier graphic, don't waste your money on the PS3 version, saved for MGS4 and Devil May Cry 4 or Ninja Gaiden 2 and Halo 3 on X360
