Gears of War will be coming to Wii however because it is selling the most consoles, is about to eclipse the Xbx 360 Fanbase, and has the most momentum and popularity. These reasons will ensure this game comes to the Wii.

I'm still holding out hope that Gears comes to PC.
Not as a vista exclusive though.

And these rumors have been going on forever. However it doesn't even take a week for the Gears rumor to be debunked.

As for Gears on the PC I hope that doesn't happen. Gears should stay on a gaming console.

Lol I'm a Nintendo fanboy and I'm laughing hysterically here at the idea of Gears on the Wii. But only from a technology standpoint and a legal standpoint of course. Its a 360 exclusive. Theres NO WAY IN HELL Microsoft would allow such a goldmine to defect to the Wii. Lastly it wouldn't look as great on the Wii and a lot would have to be sacrificed IMO to make it compatible with the system.

However those two things aside a game like GoW could occur on the Wii. FPS have a LOT of potential on the Wii. I for one LOVED Red Steel and I can't wait for the 2nd one and any other decent FPS that comes to the system. I hope RE5 comes to the Wii but given Capcom's pussy decision to create Umbrella Chronicles I doubt thats happening. But I can still dream I guess.

I just don't see how everyone is saying Sony is getting "owned" here. Was Xbox "owned" becuase it didn't get Final Fantasy XII? Of course Gears won't be on the PS3. Yawn.

Well if Epic wasn't tied to Microsoft wouldn't that be the Nintendo Defense Force's reason why it would come to the Wii (we all know it isn't, this is hypothetical)?

* Motion controls pwn regular dual analog set ups.
* Graphics don't matter, Epic would spend more time on gameplay.
* The Wii is the winner this generation. Why wouldn't developers take advantage of the success of the Wii and make more games on it?

appropriately graphically toned down, i don't see why it wouldn't be any fun on the Wii, especially if the RE4 over-the-shoulder Wii controls works out well

Unreal engine 3 doesn't even natively support the Wii. It could be done though...

Who knows, Gears may even look better on the wii... without all that dammed bloom :)

I like my Wii and all, but Gears on the Wii would be like watching Star Wars where all the effects were shot by kids on using camera phone holding paper mache ships and running around their backyard.

Sure, it would look bad by comparison, which is why i feel it shouldn't be done (it would violate Epic's artistic vision)

But i'm saying if, lets say, Gears and Red Steel had switched platforms (but had all the appropriate modifications for each), Gears would be no less awesome in SD, and Red Steel wouldn't have been any better in HD

I see what you're saying Mr Khan, but as someone who owns a Wii and 360, I believe Gears would have to be so radically altered (ie More then just grpahics) that it simply would not be Gears anymore. It's kind of like most of the old arcade ports on the NES. Ever played Strider on the NES?

Take a look at the sales of the maps. Does it come anywhere near to the number of copies sold originally?

Mark, you know what you are doing about pricing content. I don't know why you'd pretend MS didn't make a mistake here and take you along for the ride.

But overall, obviously, Gears is a big success.

Single-player (by yourself) sucks.

Co-op rocks.

Ranked matches can suck or rule, depending on your team.

Player matches with friends? Amazing.

btw - I have a 360 and I don't like Gears and haven't bothered with Unreal Tournament since the '99 version.

There is not a single AAA title (RFOM, MOTORSTORM) that I would trade for GOW. I play GOW at a friends house and it was OK. Not revolutionary. The blood on the screen from chainsawing something was laughably cheesy. As cheesy as the mud on the screen in Motorstorm.

3. Nobody in their right mind would think Gears Of War is going PS3 (and no, Microsoft does NOT own Epic).
4. Random blog starts a rumor which anyone with any intelligence can shoot down.
5. Alas, this is the internet. Where the only percentage of users higher than idiots are perverts.
6. Rumor picks up steam and Mark Rein probably thinks to himself, "another new low for teh internets" before deciding he has to squash a ridiculous rumor.
7. And now, according to this thread, PS3 gets "pwned?" The fuck is wrong with you people? And, oh yeah. For the record... Hideo Kojima has stated a large number of times that MGS4 is a PS3 exclusive. Nomaru has stated as well that FFXIII and FFXIII vs. are PS3 exclusives as well. FFXIII losing exclusitivity rumor keep circulating because Nomaru keeps stating the Novalis Crystallis saga with not be limited to it's current three games and we could see other games on other consoles.

Actually, Lp47, Sony sent out a press release today announcing that--hehe, ahem--announcing that they have a one year plan to reduce the price of the PS3 significantly. The first part of the plan is that they will publish all of their IPs on the Xbox 360. With the increased revenue from these games, Sony will decrease the price of the PS3 at no loss.
