Saw this coming: Games based on Saw coming
Brash Entertainment says that they're looking to change the way that movie-license games are made, and one of the first IPs getting the treatment will be the Saw franchise, GameDaily BIZ reported today. There's no word on what sort of game the horror series will inspire, but we've got our fingers crossed for some hybrid of Deception and Night Trap.
Brash says that they've got 12 other games in development and 40 licenses under their belt. They're not exactly just a bunch of upstarts either, with $400 million in funding to play with. So, their attempt at Saw either represents the start of something great or the opening salvo in a crapstorm. Let's hope it's the former.

Saw games could actually work.
They can be puzzle games, but with horrific, gore filled murders.

I think that there will be a Wii version very similar to Manhunt 2.

Hahaha, they already have Starcraft map variant, so why not?
NeverSage @ Jun 4th 2007 4:00PM
Saw game? I'll pass. Those are some of the worst movies ever made.

What a stupid idea. They need to make a videogame out of Cleaver.
Bluebreaker @ Jun 4th 2007 4:12PM
They may as well make one of Hostel while they're at it then.

Man they really should have stopped at the first film, the twist in the first Saw is just amazing...but then two utter shite sequels later and weve arrived at the game

Disagree with #9, I liked Saw 2 and especially Saw 3

Damn the lady in that pic is dumb.
Drop the wiimote and pull your arms out for god sakes.

I don't understand the picture. Where does it say in the article it's going to be exclusive to the Wii (or am I just missing it)?
Ken @ Jun 4th 2007 5:56PM
@OTAM
No, it's a picture of Saw, but with something video games incorporated into it...
Joystiq is a video game site afterall...

Don't you see the sharp edges around her hands? She pulls, and off come her hands. That must be one very special wiimote.

Could be interesting. It could make a good puzzle game. Or a text-adventure game. I'd imagine it'd be something like Shadowgate or somethin'.

Wait, now when something wierd happens in the real world are they gonna blame the game, or the movie?
Play the blame game, blame the game.

God, that scene from Saw 2 is HILARIOUS. The girl reaches into the box and her hand gets trapped by a blade...and instead of using her free hand to lift up the blade so she can get her hand out, she puts her hand in the OTHER hole trapping that one too!
I liked the first Saw because the characters were sympathetic and three-dimensional, but Saw 2 was full of people I couldn't wait to see get bumped off because all they did was scream and bitch. Aren't you supposed to root for the protagonists of horror movies?
I'd like to see the Saw game as a third-person survival horror/action/puzzle hybrid thingamy. Like Silent Hill, but with less clunky controls.
