PSN gets pseudo-ad with a montage
If you've been wondering what you're missing by not putting down $600 for a PS3, Sony's come out with a handy-dandy montage of PlayStation Network offerings. In the montage you'll see Nucleus, Lemmings, Warhawk and a bunch of other offerings.
Is this basically an ad for the PS3? Sure is. But it's an ad that actually shows off games on the PS3, which if you've been paying attention, has been an issue with Sony's legitimate ad campaign. OK, Sony, we're on a good path here. Show more games that look good and less crying Satan babies that'll require NSFW tags.

Really Impressive i must say.
Dustin @ Jun 5th 2007 4:08PM
Haha... crying Satan babies.
I think they actually managed to show every game on their console that scored over a 5/10 in one video.
Zoinks @ Jun 5th 2007 4:10PM
I own a PS3 and I didn't realize some of those games were available. This is the type of advertising we really need to see out of Sony from here on in.

Why was my excitement level during this video on the same level as waiting to go to the bathroom after eating 2 bags of popcorn?
Arglor @ Jun 5th 2007 4:41PM
uhmmm i have a ps3... some of those games aren't available...
Man i wish they were. I'm not a big fan of calling all cars to be honest. i'm too unskilled for the game hehe.
Arglor @ Jun 5th 2007 4:47PM
It is sad that they still have to put an asterisk in the ad that admits "User is responsible for internet fees"
People should know that, you would think but then again i wonder if they could be held liable for faulty advertising if they didn't include the statement.
Matt B @ Jun 5th 2007 4:53PM
Not true Arglor. People are amazingly stupid.
WowWowWubzy @ Jun 5th 2007 5:08PM
That had to be the SADDEST SHOWCASE For a Console that I've Ever Seen!!!
WhackMushroom @ Jun 5th 2007 5:13PM
its about fucking time .. creativity in advertising is overrated.
Kn1ves @ Jun 5th 2007 5:22PM
apparently playing super rub a dub is the most fun youll ever have after paying $600
KingOfGods @ Jun 5th 2007 6:04PM
I have to agree with Kn1ves...that is the only game I have fun playing (besides my PS2 games)
Einhanderkiller @ Jun 5th 2007 6:50PM
Don't know about you guys, but I thought it was a well put together video. A little boring, but it did show off Sony's PSN games.
waldopepper @ Jun 5th 2007 7:25PM
Wow PS3 marketing that actually showed screens of the console itself! This made me more interested in buying one than before.
Pedro @ Jun 5th 2007 7:37PM
I liked it a lot! What was that game "Sky Blue"? I haven't heard of that. It was in the "relaxation" part and it looked like a little puff of smoke flying... Agreed, it was kind of boring, but this is much more along the lines of an actual ad! Also agreed: it is kind of sad that so many of the games looked like "retro" hits (all those 2D shooters and stuff)... so much for High-Def Next Gen... well, at least for now. I want PS3 to get its act together and start to really wow us.
Diman @ Jun 5th 2007 9:42PM
Go fanboys!
Those two relaxation things were just screensavers appart from Flow.
Saturn2888 @ Jun 6th 2007 1:36AM
Finally, a well-made PS3 ad. Only problem, it was to long by 50% otherwise, it seems Sony is finally understanding how to actually market something. Geez.

I totally agree. By the end there, I was kinda wanting a PS3. And I love my 360. (And, by the way, I am a GIRL and I don't like shooters much at all. So take that, stereotype-lovers.)
And I want to play Final Fantasy.
But... $600, man. I can't do it. Not even if I wanted to. I got the 360 cause the price was right - I convinced my grandma to get it for me for Christmas because it was "not the most expensive console," I said. That was the selling point. Also - achievement points. I am a whore for them.
And I'll be moving soon... Pay rent, or get a PS3? Rent wins. No PS3 for me.
Make the PS3 cheaper, and I might bite. I would rather go without the console than spend $600, though.
(I agree, too, with whoever said the commercial was too long. It was. But at least it was informative.)
staxontoplyon23 @ Jun 6th 2007 9:37AM
Well, Jess, I have 350 achievement points (its whats causing that bulge in my pants) and noticed your proposition there, come on, get in the car...
Sorry, couldn't resist.
