Previously silent on the timing of the release of a Knytt sequel, Within a Deep Forest creator Nifflas has finally let a date slip from his keyboard: August 30th. The indie game creator has forged new ground in the community by crafting atmospheric platform adventures that emphasize mood, environment, and exploration. Within a Deep Forest poured the challenge on like warm, thorny honey, while the follow-up Knytt nixed most of the enemies in favor of item discovery. Knytt Stories continues in the same vein and will include a powerful level-editor, a first for Nifflas. Another first will be the release of an expansion pack with extra levels, music, and other bonuses available for purchase, though both the game and editor will remain free.

A nice game, without all that realistic 3-D shit G-whores love so much today.

Eh...I'm sure it's a well designed dinky low-detail 2d game, but I honestly played plenty of those two decades ago. Make it actually LOOK GOOD in addition to having quarter-century old gameplay and maybe it'll have a reason to exist.

#5: How can you piss like that over a FREE game? Does the author shove it down your throat? No, but you decide to let him know how little appreciated his work is... by you. Go back to your Madden 2009 or whatever the hell you idiots play these days.

I'm playing Knytt at the moment.. and its pretty fun.
Its a little similar to lemmings in the way that they manage to get so much character out of tiny pixels.
It can get a bit frustrating with all the backtracking at times though.

Yes, Below the Root was awesome. Someone needs to remake it.
The screens look very hit-and-miss on graphics, but not bad for a free game. I'll have to check out the two prequels and see if they're good.
