So this guy is basically saying that people shouldn't exercise at all? If we're getting wiitis from playing sports virtually, imagine playing them irl, oh noes

He's trying to be the one to create the 21st Century "Nintendo Thumb," where kids were actually developing hand problems from playing video games too much.

Unfortunately, he's just confusing RSI with exercise. My legs hurt when I bike for a long time... oh no! I think I have bikeitis (more commonly known as bikers legs.)

Hmmmm... when i play real tennis for long hours at a time my arm begins to hurt. WSho would think doing the same thing on a video game console would produce the same results.

I read his correspondence article in the New Journal of Medicine this past week, and it reads like an advertisement for the Wii. He definitely wasn't saying people shouldn't play Wii or other sports, he just brought up the possibility that people *are* getting more active now and some people who aren't used to exercise can get injured in their exuberance.

Yes, getting sore when exercising for extended periods of time... tends to happen. God knows people these days might know this if they actually got up off the couch for a change.

My elbow and shoulder definitly hurt a little after playing for a while. I think part of it is since the remote doesn't weigh much there isn't any resistance. It puts a different kind of strain on muscles and stuff.

They really missed out by not calling it "Nintendonitis".
