@ Rallion: thanks

I named my iPod "The most Awesome iPod ever" because everyone who's given it a scroll-through has loved it.

Well, except for my "ghetto-fly" sister.

Hypnotize by System of a Down

The song would be really fun for guitar, bass, drum and singer. Please put that song in there.

I'd like to see them toss in a couple of really out-of-center things. like, 'glosoli' by Sigur Ros, or 'moya' by Godspeed You Black Emperor, something from My Bloody Valentine's 'loveless', or, um, anything ever recorded by The Boredoms. but insofar as rock music? I nominate Soundgarden, 'jesus christ pose', Queens of the Stone Age, 'in the fade', and Sleater-Kinney, 'the fox.' seriously, they should just do an installment of RB or GH that's nothing but Steve Albini stuff. that would be brilliant.

oh, and: 'snail' by the Smashing Pumpkins, from 'gish.' that would be really good for the drummer in the band. nice.

I would love to see Metallica's cover of Sabbra Kadabra, or even the original Black Sabbath version. I think that would be a lot more fun to rock out to than Master of Puppets, although that is also an excellent song.
Something by NOFX would also be nice, perhaps American Errorist or Dinosaurs Will Die.
I really want to suggest some Three Days Grace, but I don't think any of their stuff would be that great for Rock Band. I also second I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness.

I submitted:

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead - "Another Morning Stoner"
Mogwai - "Hunted By A Freak"
Pixies - "Gouge Away"
The Guess Who - "Shakin' All Over"

There's a lot of really good suggestions here. I'm happy to see all the props for the Pixies, and I even saw Television in there. Rock on.

"Why does Harmonix Have to ALWAYS do something Konami did in their Bemani Line of games? Figure out something original."

Which Konami game had people using drum peripherals, guitar peripherals, and a microphone all in one?

I don't know how ya'll came up with these. It would take me ages to go through my music and decide on FOUR that I like and fit the bill in terms of being suitable for this game. I'm trying... but, at this point I really can't keep track.

I like the Summer Romance suggestion (I love the focus on bass) but I thought I'd throw in A Crow Left of the Murder or Privilege. Also, if ya'll think White Stripes is good, how about some Raconteurs, Steady As She Goes or Level.

Speaking of Boston, how about some Dropkick Murphys, though Flogging Molly would be a better non-boston choice.

Reading someone's suggestion of Sigur Ros made me realize people might not be considering all the requirements each song needs to be in Rock Band. Sigur Ros sings in another language, and part of Rock Band's gameplay is the microphone part, so how are regular Joes gonna feel about trying to sing an ultra-high pitch icelandic language song.

So anyway. When deciding on this shite, think about the fact that at least on hopefully most of the songs someone will be singing, playing guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums. Not sure if I missed anything.

If you ask me this whole submitting songs thing is far-fetched. They don't have time to listen to hundreds of songs, especially the obscure ones. So if anything they'll pool the top submitted songs and choose from those.

Cmon,guys. Let's go a little international, oy.
If you dig the well-composed music, oy, J-rock is your thing then, oy. Asian Kung-Fu Generation, L'arc~en~Ciel, Hirano Aya, Judy & Mary, etc. Look up their melodies on radioblogclub & just get used to foreign lyrics. For US, I say Muse, oy.
"Noones gonna take meee aliiive
you and I must fiight to surviiive"
oy.

There have been some good suggestions so far. Rush, Dire Straits, System of a Down, Tool, Queen and Styx all sound awesome.

I also would like to see some Black Magic Woman by Santana, any Mars Volta (that would make for some fun times with the vocals), and wheres my Crazy Train? I WANT OZZY!!! Throw some Coheed and Cambria in there too but GIVE ME CRAZY TRAIN!!!
