Shipping this week: scary silver ninjas edition

already got shadowrun and f2 i'll be picking up tenchu z on wednesday and the darkness when that comes out in about two weeks.

for those who care:

last night, after cleaning up the 20 gigger, i finally got to sit down with a few of the new demo's i hadn't well, demoed yet. this includes dirt, pirates, tenchu, overlord, and the wwii shooter.

after reading how awesome dirt was compared to forza 2, i was fairly unimpressed. i seemed to find the framerate lacking a lot, and the driving to be somewhat arcadey. forza's track record still has me sold, though i haven't picked it up yet (excuse the pun).

pirates was meh. the controls are kinda finicky/frustrating. gameplay sorta choppy. crappy ai.

i actually enjoyed tenchu more than the overlord demo. yeah ... it could use some tweaks (i don't see how you can make a game today that won't let you invert camera. It wouldn't let you in the demo) ... other than that little frustration, it was pretty fun. i'll probably pick it up used on ebay in the near future.

wwii shooter: the suck ... wheres the ammo?

oh, and i forgot about shadowrun. it's not really my cup of tea, but i do see what all the fuss is about. i'd rather have a couple of tech/magic items standard and more polished graphics/levels. sometimes less is more. it pissed me off when i tried to strangle someone and end up sending him a tree of life. i liked those kite things way too much tho. teleport seemed kinda uneffective.

I picked up shadowrun and I can see the strategy behind it with all the magic and tech items. It is a unique experience that I think a lot of people will get into

Am I missing something or isn't a little game called "Dirt" coming out tomorrow? At least that's what ol' reliable IGN tells me.

Am I the only one around here that's actually looking forward to playing Tenchu Z?

I'd like to love Tenchu Z. Its just non-boss character die like grass to a lawnmower.
