Personally, I had the metropolis theme in my head moreso than the chemical plant theme. And the wing fortress theme. And...hell, let's just say the entire soundtrack is amazingtacularlyawesome.

Okay, I never played Lode Runner on the NES. Anyone know anything about it? Should I consider it after I've already downloaded Battle Load Runner?

Still waiting for Super Mario RPG, original Star Fox, Marble Madness and Breath of Fire 1 & 2.

How much is 800 wii points equivalent to? The ps2 sega classics have a lot of those games and is only $20.

"Note: Playing this game may cause the Chemical Plant Zone theme to become permanently lodged in your brain."

I'm already fucked up then, the second I read that quote, the theme started playing in my head.

hey you guys did you know that some of the sega genesis games are on that genesis collection for psp/ps2 or are on the sonic collection for gamecube? I just wanted to make sure everybody knows because every time a sega game is released on the virtual console, nobody brings this fact up.

@Phranctoast

That's a pretty good deal, even though I only really care about maybe 3-4 of them, that's still cheap.

Speaking of Genesis games, does anyone remember a fighting game where you can play some mage-looking dude that teleports? Unfortunately, that's all I can remember about it. Played it at my friend's back in the day and remember liking it, but don't know the name of it.

ugh Lode Runner for NES according to Wikipedia is WORSE VERSION. YUP. Not only are you getting a re-run your getting a worse version of Lode Runner. If you already have Battle Lode Runner for Turbographix than don't touch NES version. If you don't own either get Turbo since its a $1 more and you get better multiplayer (5player on Turbo vs 2 player on NES).

this is so stupid. With such a big names like F-zero X, SUper Mario RPG, Super MEtroid, and others why release a freaken repeat? what a stupid thing.

Oh yeah I CAN NOT BUY that sega collection because I DON"T OWN A PS2. So if I buy a PS2 and that sega collection it will be more than $150, yeah Virtual Console is much cheaper than buying another console .

While the Genesis collection is a must-have for a PS2 owner, between Sonic Mega Collection and Sonic Gems Collection for GC, you get most of what you need (sans Golden Axe and Phantasy Star)
Sonic, Ristar, and VectorMan

- The Virtual Console used to be an impulse buy for me...until I realized how much I wanted. So, I've been delaying my purchases for actual Wii games.
- The first VC game I downloaded was Sonic, so I guess I'd get this. Or I could spend $2 more for Star Fox like I planned to do a few months ago. And now pricepoint becomes apparent when $2 is seperating a Genesis game from a N64 game.

Thanks. I'll avoid the NES version then. My favorite version is still Lode Runner: The Legend Returns by Sierra. That one rocked!

I think that's it! Hard to tell since I remember so little about it, but that looks right.

Thanks man! Now let's get this on the Virtual Console so I can play it again and find out if it's actually as good as I remember.

Gah, I'm waiting for Sonic 3. The best side-scrolling Sonic game EVER... (IMO)

Besides, you could save your progress on Sonic 3. That alone makes it worth waiting for.

Actually, what they need to do is make it so you can do the cool combo games like you could back in the Genesis days... linking Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles = some of the best gaming days of my life.

They need to come out with Killer Instinct Gold, now. Actually, I'd rather have it come out for the XBLA so it had some type of online play.

And by the way, Eternal Champions was the balls back in the day. The Overkills were damn near impossible, but so satisfying.

Mine was the bonus stage and Robotnik's theme. Sonic 2 and 3 had the best music on the Mega Drive/Genesis. Okay that's not saying much, but at least Sonic games had you humming along instead of wincing. Okay, using a Z80 processor might have been clever for backward compatibility, but who's bright idea was it to process sound?

well i'm not getting anything. i only bought sonic because of the novelty of having sonic on my wii. anyway the sonic games suck damn spikes and animals. gameplay is so damn cheap.

how much you wanna bet Sega has discontinued printing those collections on cube and anyones you find you are lucky because they want more people to buy them on vc.
