Legend of Zelda for NES is really hard. I find it practically harder than Super Mario Bros 1. I really enjoyed Star Fox 64 and had made it half way through before I got stuck on the Landmaster Tank level to save Slippy. Definitely need more Wii points and buy Zelda II.

Unfortunately for my childhood, I was devoid of LttP when I owned a SNES. OoT was my first Zelda, and so naturally I've gone back and purchased LttP (I've played the original before and didn't see the need to spend the money on it). It is deserving of the praise it gets, and the following Zelda games are deserving of the word "derivative".

I usually buy games that are new to me and that have received great reviews in the past. It's an interesting grab bag, but there have been several gems.

I never buy games that I already own, but mostly because I actually still own a NES and SNES with a ton of games. The only games I have bought so far have come from turbografx 16. I wish owned that system when i was younger!

Purchased so far: Toejam & Earl, Mario 64, Mario 1, Donkey Kong 2, Zelda LTTP, Altered Beast... all of which I played through when they first came out. One thing that amazes me though is how difficult (at least for me) these titles are now!!! Did I lose practice or I just got used to how much easier games became???

I'm so sorry that you went so long without Actraiser! That really is a shame. That was one of the first two games I got for the SNES waaaay back in the day (along with Super Mario World, of course). I must have played that game 20-30 times since then. Back then, the special effect that played when you entered one of the side-scrolling dungeons blew me away, and I still have that music (and the rest) in my head.

Actraiser has to be one of my top-ten games ever, and it seems to rarely get mentioned.

I bought Kirby's adventure for NES after watching some vids of it on youtube. It is awesome, and I can't believe the NES could handle it, it makes SMB look like crap, both graphics wise and design wise

I owned a Genesis back in the day and for some reason never played Ristar. Now having played it I seriously recommend it to everyone that enjoys platforming games. It's definitely one of my all time favorites.

I'm definately another Act Raiser convert. I had no idea this game existed until it launched on VC. I can't say what it is about this game that draws me back night after night, but I can tell you I play it religiously.

Ocarina of time also. I never gave that game the light of day until its VC release. I've never really been a huge zelda fan, but ever since I bought my wii, I've been playing Link to the past, Ocarina Of Time, And twilight princess like theres no tomorrow.

I'm the same with ActRaiser. I never played it when I was a kid. I just beat it yesterday and it is freakin' awsome. It's like Castlevania meets Black and White. So cool.
