Maniac Mansion is a game I wish they would release on VC.

You got it mixed up. 10TACLE is doing the DS version, and Keen is doing the Wii version.

A game that uses the tools provided by the machine for which it is being developed? I think I may be sick.

"Could motion-sensitive controls shock a little life into players' interest in the genre?"

When did people lose interest in the genre? I'm still waiting for a new Gabriel Knight, 7th Guest, Monkey Island, and Leisure Suit Larry (that last crap one doesn't count).

Ugh. It seems like every game that comes out these days is either stylus, wiimote, dual analog, dpad, kb/m, mouse only, or analog nub based. And as if that weren't enough, there always seem to be certain rules and goals in the game and you can either win or lose usually depending on how good you are. Lots of times you have some types of characters and menu screens in there. Jeez give us something new already.

Where is the innovation? Just the other day I saw a this kids toy that involved being thrown. What crap? Throwing stuff is so 6 thousand years ago. We need more innovations and stuff, like the iPhone.

I love people on the internet. I read a lot of Joystiq threads and this one is easily one of the most amusing and satisfying I have seen so far. Jake and Chrono, I applaud you both. I legitimately LOL'ed.

Jake is obviously the only one who truly gets it.

The iPhone is coming and you will obey it at all costs. The iPhone will replace the DS, PSP, Dreamcast, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and Sega Genesis(but not the Sega CD attachment).
