Crush producer considers multiplatform release, level editor
Sixty reasons not enough to convince you to buy a PSP? This interview with Crush senior producer Paul Mottram will only serve to justify your stubbornness. Speaking to Sega Nerds, Mottram expresses interest in taking the game to other platforms.
"There is no reason why it couldn't be transferred to multiple different platforms especially the Wii, DS and PS2," he said, "and this is something we are thinking about." Discussing a potential sequel, Mottram said "It's something we'd all love to do since there are so many features we didn't get the opportunity to put into this version."
Consideration is at least six degrees away from confirmation and execution, but it does seem the folks at development studio Zoë Mode aren't feeling compelled to keep the franchise PSP-exclusive. Should a sequel or new release come out, it will give Mottram and co. a chance to implement a level editor, one of the big ideas that they had but never made it to the final product.
"We have a terrific in-game level editor running on the PSP which our designers used to create all the levels in the game. Unfortunately, we didn't have the time to get this running on a commercial PSP or implement all the necessary user friendly features we would have needed if it was to be shipped with the game. As you could imagine designing Crush levels can be tricky at times."
Crush designer Alex Butterfield gave a speech at this year's Game Developers Conference discussing the challenges of making levels in the game. Mottram summed it up best: "You could spend hours perfecting a level only to see someone instantly circumvent the entire level with a crush we had never considered."

oh and the gamecube wasnt a failure, and why add the micro lol, its a diff version of the gba, which was a huge success. and as for msft "shooting down" nintendo, i think selling a couple more million consoles isnt "shooting down" anything lol. 24 mil to 21.5 mil isnt nothin to brag about, while the ds is selling twice what the psp is selling, so please, quit sounding silly.

The developers don't lie, the PS3/PSP suck. If you can think up one good counter-point to that line, I will shut my mouth for good. And it cannot be "GRAHICS OMGOMGOMG I'M EIGHT, GRAPHICS ONLY" or "NINTENDO'S KIDDY" or even "MOVIES MUSIC HOMEBREW!?" because even the most stupid DS user knows that with plenty of devices such as the R4, G6, CycloDS or hell, MaxMediaDock, anyone can run music movies and run homebrew.

I can list tons of great PSP games(can't do the same for PS3 though), and prove you wrong. But there's really no point in arguing with a Nintendo/DS fanboy, it's like arguing with a monkey.

Also, nice job insinuating that I am a Nintendo/DS fanboy, because in reality I am not. Sega was my one true love, the Genesis is still used in my house. And before you go off and say "Oh wait then you hate Sony because of them knocking Sega out of the market" you are still wrong, because I own a Dreamcast and a PS2. I believe Sony had it right with the PS2, good games, fair price, internet that was subpar but at least something Nintendo didn't have. I actually wanted to like the PS3, but when they announced the Cell processing bullshit and promised all kinds of things that never happened along with five ninety nine us dollars, I knew it was going to be a flop. But wait, we were talking about the PSP. PSP was destined to be bad from the start. They have shitty third-party support, they resort to the stupidest forms of advertisement, and it has too much extras for its own good. Handhelds are supposed to be limited to game playing and a few features, not playing movies and other stupidity.

Sadly, due to the lackluster game library, I do have to carry around 2 devices anyway - my DS and my PSP.

And I read gamespot reviews, and 5 good PSP games come out every time 1 good DS game comes out. A bad game library? it's your opinion, so stop making it look as if it was a fact. And what's with this "shitty 3rd party support" crap..? Did you even look at the PSP lineup this year? OK sorry for calling you a nintendo fanboy, I was wrong, you're just a DS fanboy.

Anyway, I like the game mechanics. Congrats Sega you made an interesting new IP. I love level editors on puzzle games. Also please include a way to download other peoples levels.

First post was a PSP blast saying game sales don't lie. Which is funny because Crush has been out on PSP all of two weeks and all three stores I tried to buy it at were sold out. In fact, Sega has stated they've been pleased with their PSP performance and the only company that has come out bashing sales has been EA. A company that delivered the 3.5 rated Burnout for DS and insist that, if PSP owners want madden on the go, they'll have to pay just as much for a neutored, and likely defective, copy on PSP. In fact, PSP game sales are usually fairly steady. But it's an internet myth so it's brought up immediately.
Then a PSP fantard jumped in and defended the PSP (how DARE he) but took it a bit far and sunk to the original postings level by turning around and ignorantly bashing DS.
Then someone defended DS but apparently the defending wasn't blatant enough as Sonic & Tails proved himself not only to be the biggest ass of the thread, but existing entirely for Nintendo DS. 8-10 a day indeed. One must wonder if there is a charger in his bathroom or how he avoids cheetos stains upon his buttons. Who needs a life when you have at least a 15% charge left?
Sorry, dud, had to burn you. Because jamesology attacks a troll and you call HIM a troll. Way to think it through, helmet head. And as someone else stated, there are ways to prove you wrong, but it's like arguing with a trekkie. No point and at the end of the day, you'd end up arguing with a retard.
Meanwhile, holz keeps shooting himself in Soncandtails tragic little efforts. And that, Karen, is how a simple thread turns into a console war. Sit back and enjoy. Eventually FR may show up and then it will become downright comical.

Seriously, sometime soon I'll have to set up a website with my game collection so people can just look at what I'm playing and own so that I don't have to whip out a list.
There is plenty to play on DS just as there is plenty to play on PSP. Before I can give you a list, let me know what games you're into.

Crush is pretty awesome, I started playing it last night. It's like a puzzle game... with story!

Good to hear. I want to find a local copy because I don't really feel like paying shipping on too many games this month. Especially since, nowadays, I pay tax online anyway.
@primetime
Damn, you really limited me there. I can't go through the usual lists. Regardless, here I go. Despite many peoples complaints, I found some good times with Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors. Those are Hack 'n Slash so it's limited to combos, combos, and more combos. If you every played one, give the portables a shot. I got great enjoyment just based on the fields system (a system that was thankfully adopted, in a modified format, for Gundam Musuo). Kingdom of Heaven is also a pretty good hack and slash RPG. The combos in this game really drive it as you keep trying to mix all the elements.
The GTAs are always easy to recommend. Also, give Ratchet & Clank as well as Daxter a shot. Warriors is a pretty cheap pickup as well. And if dungeon slashing is your thing, Untold Legends can be fun (although takes FOREVER to beat). And if you've missed the Prince of Persia games first time out, give those a shot too. Coming soon, though, are a few more action games.

I couldn't get Crush either at an EBGames last Sunday. They must not stock very many copies.

I'll make some calls pretty soon. But it's rare that I call AROUND for a game.

Read some reviews (ignore some of the review numbers) and watch some video's there's ought to be something there you or your Wife will like. There's a lot more games I just listed some of the unique or fun ones for you.
*Disclaimer: This list was made for Primetime4 to check out some games for the DS that he may like. It is not apart of the above troll fighting that I think is a waste of time and space.

Just a question for DS fanboys, do you guys actually play your DS b/c by the looks of these threads you don't. You guys seem to spend more time on the computer than the DS.
I wouldn't blame you though, DS games get boring fast. Thats why I don't buy them, I just download them with the R4DS. Now, they need to make one for the PSP, I don't want to hack it.
@rahnyc4
yeah sales don't lie and the gamecube proved it. A company corp "dedicated" to videogames got shot down by a Audio/Visual Corp(Sony) and a Computer Software Corp(MS). If they did it once they can probably do it again in the future. Just b/c Sony and MS failed now (like Virtualboy, Gamecube, Micro) it does not mean they will fail in the future.
Just b/c your family can't afford a PSP doesn't mean no one can. It's a girl system; Lady-boys buy it and Men buy it b/c their GF/Wife force them to; "so we can play together!"
