Halo's Todd McFarlane controllers and wireless headset
Microsoft is going all out with their Halo tie-ins for that big incoming finale. On top of the Mad Catz merchandise, there are some official Microsoft Halo 3 accessories incoming to finish the fight. GamingTalkHQ found images of two official Xbox controllers and a Halo 3 wireless headset for the Xbox 360 at Gamestop.com.All three items are listed at $59.99 with a release of Sept. 4; however, Gamestop is notoriously bad with their prices and dates this far out. The controller art is done by Todd McFarlane (Spawn) and also comes with a Halo 3 figurine by McFarlane Toys. So, maybe, it will end up costing $60. We'll find out more closer to release and when these items become "official".
[Thanks Alex]

This guy is become more and more like the Thomas Kinkade of his generation.

Man, certain games like Halo, FF, and some others just get way too carried away with this crap. Who the f' buys this type of crap. Please let me know so I can make fun of you.
I'll admit I have some Tool, Pink Floyd, etc. t-shirts and other branded items in my possetion. But, spending $200 to have a Master Chief cat helmet and colorful controller is borderline retarded.
thebigwhif25 @ Jun 12th 2007 4:54PM
Is there ever a time you DONT try and insult gamestop?
honestly, that one line in there was not needed, or warranted. That is just bad journalism. the date they put is what they are told. "our goal is sept 4th"...is what they were told.
anywho the headset is sexy but the controllers...really not...
deaftly @ Jun 12th 2007 4:57PM
im liking those controllers alot but i don't know about that $60 tag on em

I'm sure these controllers will help me get laid.

@6
Your boyfriend a big Halo fan with a September b-day?
Chris @ Jun 12th 2007 5:22PM
Todd Mcfarlane is sweet. I have a couple "action figures" of his. Not the biggest Halo fan, though. And even so this stuff isn't that cool. Maybe if they did a sweet Zelda Wii remote... but it would have to be pretty badass for me to spend that much money. And it'd definitely have to help me get laid. :-)
AppleiPhone @ Jun 12th 2007 5:27PM
I plan on bringing some chicks to my place and show off my sweet Halo 3 controllers and make them rumble on their clits.

I'm pretty sure when you're the best you deserve to have all the ego you want

"I'm pretty sure when you're the best you deserve to have all the ego you want"
True. John Cassaday deserves a massive ego.
Now, McFarlane...

"That is just bad journalism."
Good thing they aren't journalist. THEY ARE FUCKING BLOGGERS FOR THE 300TH TIME!
"I'm pretty sure when you're the best you deserve to have all the ego you want"
Best? Hell, where have you been? Even when McFarland was doing is own artwork rather than farming it out (read: Spiderman... early Spawn), his art style was still a derivative of "me too"-ing Sam Keith in proportions on females and somehow, this joker thought the human mouth developed 700 teeth overnight. Frankly speaking, majority of McFarland's work was better when they were pencils. Nowadays, it's Greg Capullo pulling all the gruntwork and doing a much better job of it.
And while all this was happening, Min-Woo Hyung came out of fucking nowhere and his artwork in Priest is among the cleanest linework I have ever seen while he obeys human anatomy, even when he is destroying it.
Frankly speaking, McFarland rose to power during the era when the CCA finally lost their grip, Image formed, and a ton of 13 year olds finally saw ubercleavage and a ton of gore. McFarland pandered and rose to fame. Nowadays, he's a relic. Still trying to rebuild the empire he watched grumple as pointless gore and even more redundant cursing for cursing sake soaked over page of his trash beyond readability.
But it's cool though, go ahead and stroke his ego as the next series of Spawn figures is based off another popular game series or he changes up the accessories, repaints, and rereleases a new lineup.

I was going to respond to @11 as well, but Sheppy said it all. Thank you

Yikes. Talk about your pieces of Zune.

$60... £30... Sounds a pretty good price for a wireless controler in Britain. God I hate our overpricing bullshit.
GJM @ Jun 12th 2007 6:51PM
sheppy,
You always say ridiculous crap, but this might be the most yet. As an avid purchaser (back then) of Sam Keith's work (Hulk and Maxx) I gotta say you are full of revisionist history (as usual i.e. wrong about Mike Tyson's Punch Out most recently). Todd McFarlane (geez, you can't even spell his name) took Spiderman from almost selling nothing at all to becoming the number one comic. HE then formed Image with all of the other artists that copied his style to become popular (Jim Lee, Sam Keith, Mark Silvestri, Rob Liefield, Eric Larsen, etc). overnight. Anyways, in general, he is considered the best, and is the comic book's Michael Jordan - basically not playing anymore - there are some players that are close nowadays - but he's still the best there was.

How many pounds does a visit to the dentist cost?
ScreamingSkull @ Jun 12th 2007 7:35PM
So is this headset actually going to be worth buying?
GJM @ Jun 12th 2007 7:38PM
"So is this headset actually going to be worth buying?"
Seeing as how the last one has so many problems - I would say no!
ScreamingSkull @ Jun 12th 2007 8:01PM
Surely if they were branding an accessory that has had such a horrible image hovering over it since it's launch they would have implemented some tweaks and improvements..
Justin U @ Jun 12th 2007 8:12PM
Yeah, I like the headset... though the controllers are a little much.
I'll stick with my dyed black controllers, kthxbai.
OGHowie @ Jun 12th 2007 8:18PM
Jim Lee > McFarlane
McFarlane or not, controllers look like crap.
Gross Greg @ Jun 12th 2007 9:41PM
...this further bolsters the notion that Master Chief is really a hellspawn.
Pureshooter @ Jun 12th 2007 11:21PM
Todd Macfarlane is a great artist and I love Halo. All three accessories look like ass.
Vagrant Pistol @ Jun 12th 2007 11:32PM
ugly. ugly, and even more ugly. How are u going to release a limited edition wireless headset when they still haven't fixed the problems. Where's the black wired headset instead? Looks like my 4 year old son did the art work!!! LMAO!!!
george @ Jun 13th 2007 12:02PM
and another healthy dose of 'waaaah, Joystiq hate Gamestop! waaah!' for my day.
Yubastard @ Sep 2nd 2007 2:41AM
ultra hot! and, if we're talking 'bout comic artists, while I would have liked them to be done by Stephen Platt, I think the art respects the buttons' colors and gets busy only where it's hidden by the hands... it could make a nice conversation piece... if you tend to hang out with people like us, joystiquers
Todd is cool. He knows how to draw, he knows how to make a long story interesting, and he knows how to run a business... give him some well-deserved credit :)
