Rockstar's L.A. Noire listed for PS3 only in T2 report
Those interested in gunning down finely-dressed gentlemen in dark, 1940's Los Angeles alleyways need to plan their future investments wisely. Between the cost of building a time machine and that of acquiring a PlayStation 3, we'd advise you to go with the latter -- it's considerably cheaper and won't run the risk of demolishing our current timeline. A recent Take-Two investor report confirms what many have suspected since Rockstar's L.A. Noire was first revealed, listing the game as a PS3 exclusive -- at least as far as the 2008 fiscal year is concerned.
Much of the game and its additional "e" is still aptly covered by darkness and smoke, though it's expected to share many similarities with Grand Theft Auto and developer Team Bondi's The Getaway series. It certainly looks to be the only noir experience we'll encounter in a while, at least until we manage to adapt our ridiculous gumshoe trilogy into a video game.

why make this exclusive for PS3? I don't understand..
Aex @ Jun 13th 2007 5:16PM
I am confused as well. I thought LA Noire was a multiplat game, maybe... uh oh... not maybes again!! AHHH!! *runs in fear of the maybes, gets stung, swells up and dies*

Why make anything exclusive for the 360??? Why did any third party make any games for the original xbox??? Because they choose too. Let it be and stop whining.
sheppy @ Jun 13th 2007 5:25PM
I could have sworn LA Noire wasn't confirmed on any console yet, just shown. This isn't the first time evidence has pointed towards this being a PS3 exclusive.
A13x @ Jun 14th 2007 12:06AM
It has been known for quite some time, as the developer's job page lists positions for a Playstation 3 title "LA Noire",

Come on folks. Pay attention now. This is exactly what happened with GTA4. GTA4 is not exclusive for one reason...Money! Rockstar knows that the 360 has a huge install base and will maintain a huge install base over the PS3 for the foreseeable future. The 360 also has a very high attach rate of 5.7 Games sold per Console.
If Rockstar wants to make money they have to release on the 360 at the very least if not on multiple platforms.
The PS3 is not going to come anywhere close to the 360's install base or attach rates anytime soon and as long as that is the case Rockstar will continue to go multi platform.
sheppy @ Jun 13th 2007 5:43PM
Jon,
GTAIV was never exclusive. Downloadable content, yes, but Rockstar was very quick to remind people GTAIV was multiplatform.
LA Noire has only been shown on PS3, hardware was never confirmed, and they have to show this to stockholders.
And PS3's attach rate, last time I checked, was sitting at 4.6. Slightly lower than Wii's 4.9. And higher than 360's on the same timeline.... ruh roh.
Tadioku @ Jun 13th 2007 5:50PM
lol Jon you make no sense, if Rockstar likes money so much then why didn't they release Table Tennis for the PS3 instead of keeping it a 360 exclusive?
why not the LS2/LS7? @ Jun 13th 2007 5:52PM
This Team Bondi was originally funded by Sony, so of course they started the development for PS3. So until/unless it is ported, it would be a PS3 game.
Melinda Gates @ Jun 13th 2007 5:56PM
This game is the suxxor anyways.
Who wants to run around playing 1940 gangsta style with revolvers shooting 6 bullets a minute when i can unload on full-auto gats in GTA4.
have fun with this antique sony fanboys.
wildweasel @ Jun 13th 2007 6:22PM
@Melinda Gates: You say this without having played it or heard anything about the way the game plays? For all you know it's probably not going to be anything like GTA.
And considering that it's the 1940's, who's to say that there won't be any full-auto action going on? After all, when I think noir, I think "tommy gun"!
Triforceowner @ Jun 13th 2007 7:18PM
This thing was PS3 exclusive from the get go. It looks like it could be fun, but that is based on speculation of the teaser CGI trailer. Who knows what the actual game will be like.
Triforceowner @ Jun 13th 2007 7:20PM
@why not the LS2/LS7?
That makes it sound like the game will end up being ported to the 360. I'll have my fingers crossed if it is good.
Mikeawesome @ Jun 13th 2007 10:20PM
In short?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Diman @ Jun 13th 2007 10:34PM
Wasn't Rockstars complaying about lack of space and hard drive? Now their chance to redeem themselves.
SharpBlade @ Jun 14th 2007 12:22AM
Marking this page so when it's also announced for the 360 I will list the turds names from this thread and rub your face in it. =)
I also notice that it shows that the GTA IV eposidic content is listed as 360. So I guess all the extra content for GTA IV is 360 exclusive using your same wonder sluthing.
sheppy @ Jun 14th 2007 12:41AM

Fucks sake. Are the generations really getting dumber? Statisticly speaking, we're supposed to see an increase.
YES, THE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT IS 360 EXCLUSIVE! ANNOUNCED A LONG TIME AGO!

forgive me for my impartiality, but isn't it great to play video games? i'm excited that rockstar is branching out into an era left wholly unexplored in video games! i can't wait to play this game (if it's good as it's potential) on any system. these are VIDEO GAMES people, not politics or religion. why the animosity?
Peter Davis @ Jun 14th 2007 3:08AM
dammit joystiq, Team Bondi are developing this game, so put THEIR name in the title, at least beside Rockstar's. you only mention Team Bondi in passing, which isn't cool.
tony @ Jun 14th 2007 10:26AM
i would assume the "extra" E at the end of noire is because Los Angeles is a feminine noun. so it's just grammatically correct, or something along those lines.
Joe @ Jun 14th 2007 5:08AM
The extra 'e' makes it feminine in French. Just thought I'd fill y'all in on the French-ness.
TigersClaw @ Jun 16th 2007 6:10AM
Team Bondi are developing it? The same guys who made The Getaway Black Monday??? I'll be steering clear of it regardless of system. They've only made 2 games and both of them stunk aside from great graphics.
Oh BTW, according to teambondi.com, LA Noire is coming to "Next Generation ConsoleS", as in plural, as in PS3 AND 360, with possibly a toned down Wii version.
