So the problem with newer TVs has been addressed in the Guncon 3 has it? Will it be backward compatible with previous Time Crisis games?

Sweet.
Here's the picture of the gun:

It looks like it's wired.

If it's wired up to the console, it's actually a controller and not a real light gun.

Heard of House of the Mansion? Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for Wii is new-gen light gun goodness.

@hvnlysoldr: What are you talking about? Lightguns need to be connected to the console to convey their input. Just look at the previous guncons.

A PS2 or Wii port would be fun, since I don't feel like getting a PS3, although I can't really see them deigning to port it to inferior hardware (the arcade game runs on upgraded PS2 hardware).

What? Man, Time Crisis 4 should be Wii-central, what are they even doing? The controller is, like, right there. Don't think too hard about this, devs.

its all part of the whole Cellius thing that BanDai Namco is doing

They want to support the PS3, they want to quite a bit, much like Capcom and the GC last gen, it doesn't make all that much sense, but there you are

So don't light-guns only work on CRT TVs?
If so, then how many PS3 owners have a CRT TV? Unless we're willing to hook up to out our old standard def CRT TV sets just to play it then we're not going buy this game.

Anni is right, the Wii would be more suited to this game as there are no display format issues to make the controller work and there is already 3 or 4 times the amount of Wii owners than PS3 owners as well.

Dude it's a light gun. No light gun for any game I know of has been wireless. The Wii doesn't count, it uses IR and motion sensing combined to determine where it is, not aiming recognition with a beam of light.

First off, let me point out that NeoGAF as source= automatic fail. I will keep bitching about this until you guys find a better source than that leper colony.

Anyways, I played TC4 at the local arcade, and it was fun as hell. I'd honestly buy a PS3 for this.

It MAY, but it's wired which means it's input comes from a wired source. Unless it's wired to the sensor-unit.

ugh this is so stupid it should be for Wii.

Casual gamers might jump onto games like this because it reminds them of arcade without being overpriced. Hardcore gamers might jump on too because its simple fun rental.

I'm totally buying REUC on Wii. Hell I'm buying RE4 wii edition last week when I owned it on cube, because controls seem to be better for this type of game.

This will get lost in the shuffle for ps3, however wii this could be great.

Glad it's coming for PS3, hope it comes to 360. If I'm gonna play a light gun game, then I want to use a gun, not a TV remote.

And as for PC games, yeah, how's FPS/RTS/MMO no. 9,856 treating ya?

Why do people keep saying this would be better for the Wii?

A lot of the fun from playing this at the arcade came from aiming down the gun at your targets. The wiimote doesn't do that. At least on my setup the cursor is no where near where I'm pointing. Unless there was a way to calibrate the wiimote before every game but I doubt that would work very well.

@cc123:
The forums are terrible. The mods are so drunk on power because of citations like this that they let the place become a freaking leper colony that's 10 times worse than the Gamespot System Wars fourms.

Let me show you their diplomatic response to the constant "why isn't x game on y platform" comments:

Many mentioned it already and others are probably tired of hearing this, but I'm surprised that this isn't announced for the Wii. F Namco, if SC Legends, a freakin spin off that might not even work, is all they can offer Wii owners, they can keep their crappy games and get the F off.

You configured you Wii wrong. When you set it up correctly and back up 6-8 feet away it is near perfect. There is only a slight distortion at the sides and from playing the Duck Hunt game it is not noticeable at all because you are focusing at the aiming icon then the physical placement of the Wii Remote. Fucktard.

And for all you fuck ups going "It has to be wired to convey the information!"

Remember when normal controllers use to do that? Then we found a thing called "Blue Tooth" and now things are all better. Good luck ironing your clothes with that hot rock while you are at it! XD

That was my whole point you stupid fucking idiot. You can't aim the wiimote like it was a real gun.

lol if it isn't the 360 boys is the wii boys.. people just don't want to let the ps3 be.. if you don't like the ps3 don't buy it and stop being an idiot and a jacka ss, if you're jealous don't say that the game sucks so you can feel better..

just save money and buy one.. is not a bad product, and a lot of amazing games are starting to come, starting this month..

why so much hate.. some people chose the ps3, other people chose the 360 and the wii.. why do you hate the console you didn't pick

It may suprise you to know this but most sites are a swimming cesspool of fanboyism. Meanwhile, NeoGaf is tightly run to try and avoid console wars and in general, the unpleasantness of threads like this.

You point at you link as evidence of their lack of logic but I see it and instantly laugh. Because it's actually quite applicable.

Each time a game is announced for whatever system, people bitch that it isn't coming to theirs. People whine, complain, and instantly think one machine should have access to all good games. Frankly, it makes them sick of it and I can see how mods would create such a generic response.

If it offends you that they are trying to keep the fanboy, limp wristed slapfests out of their forums so real discussion can occur, www.gamefaqs.com is right over there. Have fun on LUE.

OK I totally forgot how light guns worked with the wire into the machine. Here's an interview on how it's supposed to work.

For the GunCon 3, you place two markers on the left and right sides of your TV screen. A camera inside the muzzle of the gun detects the position of the markers, and thus you can use it regardless of your monitor [type]. There are six buttons on the device and two analog sticks. One of them is placed on a "sub-grip" that you hold with your left hand, and another is on the barrel of the gun.

Yes totally not like Wii's sensor bar.

sad, i love that development team. But I don't care who they have on their side, they could get nintendo and microsoft first party games. I will never buy a PS3.

Rootkits, lik-sang, price, sony, ect...

i'm just not going to. I will quit playing games before I buy a PS3. I'll probably live a longer and better life anyways.

How long do you think it'll take until developers start putting political messages into games? wait that happened with MGS (PS1).

If you rearrange the letters of SONY, take them away, and add a few (4), it spells Evil.

I can tell you why this wouldn't work on the Wii; the Wiimote doesn't have iron sights. You can't aim the damned thing unless theres an indicator on the screen, in which case it's hardly even Time Crisis anymore. Also, judging from the screenshots, It seems to be a very high tech game. Downgrading to fit ps2 and Wii specs probably isn't the first thing on the dev's mind. The only thing that surprised me is that this game isn't being released for 360 as well. Who knows? maybe it's over 9GB in size, although that's pretty unlikely.

P.S. According to IGN, this light gun works for ANY TV. not just CRTs.
