Considering the last good space shooter/sim I played was Freelancer for the PC... I'll be at least downloading the demo on Marketplace tonight.

The $40 price point does have me worried, because MS has a history of only pricing utter garbage sub $60 at release.

i haven't downloaded this game, but just to remain semi-fanboyish:

perhaps games like this will give little timmy, whose mom won't allow him to play games like F.E.A.R. or GTA, something to play and get mom to buy. Also, the pricepoint will make it easier for him to get mom to couph it up.

I'm just saying...maybe more games like this that are slightly above XBLA but below full retail will fill a gap of games for tweeners (which in this case has dual meaning).

Could be a brilliant move by MS. Or it could just be a crappy game that was thrown together in hopes of making a fast buck.

The price should be half that.

Well, Earth Defense Force was a similarly priced game. And most gamers enjoyed it. This is the price that Shadowrun should of been. Would of sold more units.

Downloaded it yesterday. Played it for a couple of hours. Very customizeable. A lot of fun, once you get the hang of the controls...BTW the demo comes with a whole six part tutorial... Love this demo. Can't wait till it comes out!!! Think Colony Wars with ADD!

If I was a new comer to the genre, jumping into demo campaign, I would say the game sucked too. But being a big space flight sim fan on PC and consoles I plowed through the tutorials and campaign.

I've never had to tinker with the control in these types of games but for this one it was a must! Too wonky by default. My expericence became much more enjoyable once I went into the option and did some adjusting.

That being said its no Freespace or Solony wars but what else is there on 360? Glad it's not a full $60. I'll probably get it just because I want to see a better space-flight game get developed for the system down the road. If the genre can't sell games then no one will bother to make them.

Don't shit on the demo if you didn't go through the tutorial. It's absolutely necessary for you to have any idea how to play. I for one am completely stoked for this and $40 seems like the perfect price point for a niche game like Sylpheed. I hope it sells well so we get more non-fps games for 360.

If you like 3D space shooters it's awesome. A little Anime-ish (if that's a bad thing to you), but a complete blast. Twitch controls with squad tactics, crazy lock-on missle mayhem, and epic an scale. Literally hundreds of fighers, capital ships, space stations, missles all fighting at once. You earn cash to upgrade your ship with and can even slow time with a special move. Way over the top, very, very cool.
