The developers in Tecmo's Team Ninja don't much care for subtlety, not in their games and certainly not in their comments to the press. Ninja Gaiden Sigma director, Yosuke Hayashi, is fast on his way to becoming a miniature Itagaki (an Itsygaki, if you will) after speaking to Eurogamer in London yesterday. When the topic of developers noting difficulty in creating games for the PlayStation 3 comes up, Hayashi suggests, "if they think it's difficult, they should get out of the ring."
Hayashi explains that in being a creator of games and in position to receive money from players, Team Ninja "shouldn't complain about the difficulty." Outspoken he may be, but the man at least implies that he'll stick to his guns as well as the PlayStation 3. "As I said, people who complain about the difficulty of creating games for PS3 should get out, right? While I'm saying that kind of thing, if I get out myself, then what I say doesn't mean anything! So, I should stay - right?"
You be the judge of that when Ninja Gaiden Sigma gets out in a few weeks.

Why bash the PS3? Well mostly I'm bored at work and like to make jabs and see the response. Juvenile, I know... but sometimes you get good rebuttals, and other times you get "can't you afford it?"....yeah.
I tell you I was exclusive PS1 and PS2 last two gens, and was ready to get the PS3 sight unseen. Then that launch got pushed back (twice, I think) and meanwhile I started playing my friends 360, saw Live and it's features and went for it. As I continued to see Sony mess up their launch, I developed the general sentiment of many others - that Sony's (Kutargi's) ego had got to them, and this supercomputer was too "uber" for my gaming needs. I didn't want to pay for blu-ray (automatically choosing my side in the HD war) and wi-fi. I like rumble, and the sixaxis was obviously a rip of the Wii and a way to avoid paying Immersion. Anyways, a year later and PS3 is too expensive, has lost some big exclusives and their online is weak compared to Live. What else besides blu-ray would cause me to buy one?

I don't own Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo stock shares, so it makes no difference to me if one fails or the other succeeds. Personally, I have the PS3 and I just want to see some good games come out that I can enjoy... although, folding@home has been a great success beyond the gaming!
Anyway, why do you guys give a rats @ss about what a developer or a CEO says, because mainstream America, Europe, Asia, Africa, etc. don't care either. And lest you forget, in the long run, it's the games and the choices of the everyday consumer that's gonna either make or break a system. So step back, take a breath, and remember that fanboys don't kill systems or their software development, poor sales do. Keep that in mind before you guys try so valiantly to bash each other behind the anonymity of the Internet.
And for my additional two cents, I was wowed by NGS. Not the PS3 version versus the 360 version blah, blah, blah. I was simply wowed by the game. Kudos to all the developers out there who toil for hours on end to make a great gaming experience, irregardless of the system it's for.

@Brad Lee
Most of the people who are bitching about how PS2 was then and now are tragicly forgetting PS2's earliest, and bleakest days. You had a ho-hum launch lineup that was fueled primarily by SSX and Madden. You had March dropping some interesting hints for future lineup and the only "cookie" PS2 owners were offered was the demo of MGS2 if you bought ZOE. Meanwhile, you had Dreamcast ports ending up performing far worse on PS2 than on Dreamcast (Grandia 2, anyone?). And by PS2's second holiday season, they finally started dropping decent games. History repeats... sadly.
Also, how can anyone feel betrayed? This is what frightens me about some people. Ken Kuturugi doesn't care about you just as Shigeru Miyamoto isn't going to phone your ass up and ask how work went. These are soulless companies who's sole purpose is to take your money. And any illusion that Sony/Microfot/Nintendo "wuuuuuuuuvs yoooooooo" is just that, an illusion. I stuck with Sony because I remember their last rough start. I like having free internet gaming (because if it wasn't free, I'd be paying $100 a year for online gaming, instead of the much for bearable $50) so I'm willing to deal with the "less than" syndrome. And considering some of the games making it this holiday season alone, I'm not complaining about the lack of games.
@Jason
Can't answer that question for you. Especially since Rockstar themselves having stated BluRay is a gaming advantage, as has Hideo Kojima. So while you're saying "Blah! They forced me to take a side," I'm remembering my first CD player was a Sega CD bought from Grandpas on clearance. The games will run off BluRay (which actually discourages piracy due to the sheer costs of burnable bluray) regardless. So why not pack in the movie playback feature? It's such a small thing to include since you'll be using the larger format for the console anyway. And frankly, PS3 has done the best job of any DVD player I own in upscaling DVDs, once again, bonus. I've dropped a ton of anime onto the PS3 so when I get home from work, kick back, and watch some anime (granted, my PS3 is currently running a 200GB HD). And trust me, I do game on the machine too and I love some of my games on there (although, recently, you'll find me in either Warhawk or Forza for my gaming). And the library is has a lot of games that appeal to me.
But I'm not everyone. What I like isn't exactly mimmicked by the masses otherwise Gitaroo Man would be a Greatest Hits game and Disaster Report would outsell Silent Hill.

The majority of PS3 hate isn't from memes. Those memes stemmed from the hate.
The hate comes from Sony's overpromising. People remembered the promises that the PS2 never lived up to, then they saw the promises the PS3 couldn't possibly.
It all fell apart for Sony with their E3 presentations. Showing CGI and claiming it was in-engine footage running on the PS3 was a mistake. But the promises are what killed them.
Maybe it's a cultural thing. Maybe the Japanese feel they need to talk big, even if they don't deliver. But in the Western World it just caused resentment. Hearing Kuturagi talk about how the PS3 will cure cancer just pissed people off. They remembered the Toy Story graphics the PS2 never delivered. Knowing that Sony was lying to them caused enormous resentment.
Then seeing the price and being told to work more hours to pay for it was the straw breaking the camels back.
Everything since, more irrational promises, more idiotic marketing (graffiti, lying blogs, sexist billboards, dead goats)... it's all pissed people off. Sony seems to have learned some, realizing it's better to go the BMW route and underpromise and overdeliver than vice versa, but the damage is done.
It's a huge, bloated console that costs an arm and a leg coming from a company that can't be trusted because they'll gleefully tell you something with their fingers crossed and just hope you forget about it.
I've been saying this for years here. I've been anti-Sony from the start, and the PS and PS2 were mostly worthless consoles to me with a horribly dated controller and an enormous stack of identically dull games. People here, for this reason, have called me a Nintendo fanboy. I've got to be honest, with an HDTV some of the PS3 games, maybe two out of the ten the system has, look incredible. The Wii games look tolerable at best. And the PS3 has two games I'd want to play. The Wii doesn't yet have that. My Wii collects dust. If I had a PS3 it would be collecting less. And my 360 just stopped collecting dust thanks to the Overlord demo.
It's unfair to judge the consoles now as it's early, and it's a drought. But I think the PS3 is a decent machine brought down by an idiotic company. I think the 360 is an equally decent machine with far better backing. And I think the buzz around the Wii will eventually crash when people realize there are no entertaining games for it, that minigame collections suck, and that HDTVs do make graphics important. But if 3rd parties learn how to make good Wii games none of that might end up mattering.

Give the PS3 the same amount of time in “retail existence” as the 360, and you’ll start to see the 360 fanboys shutup. I had TWO 360s die on me, and decided to go PS3. I love it already, and the first party titles coming out from Sony alone are worth the price of admission.
Heavenly Sword is second tier? LOL! Warhawk is second tier? LOL! That’s just the same damn fangirl nonsense I’ve heard so far this very young next-gen. Just why would someone want any of the systems to fail in the first place? So you can justify the purchase price? Cause Sony’s the devil? OMGZORZ!!!!OHHH NOES!!!
Sometimes I think people forget what it means to be a gamer. What it means to just have fun. Instead what we get are little dorks more worried about their gamerscore,, and wooohoooo the PS3 suzorz, as if that was the solution to their palid-skinned, zit-covered, non-pussy-gettin existence.
Wake up doubters. Once the PS3 has been fully realized, you’ll be changing your opinions, and probably several of you will defect as I have, quite possibly once you burn through a few 360s.

MONGO - Well I had 3 PS3's die on me so I went to Xbox 360...
See I can say that too... It means NOTHING! But the numbers do and the Xbox 360 is #1.. Sorry to let you down fanboy..
PS: Sheppy you comment too much.. This isn't a message board dude.. Comment once and move along.. You have to argue with every comment that disagrees or doesn't see something the same way you do? Go make your own blog.. I usually just breeze by anything you write but it's getting harder when you make 20 comments in each blog post..

of course its gonna be harder...it's true next gen! these lazy developers just dont want to learn something new. if they wanted something they didnt have to learn, they should stick to developing games like PONG! last generation, the devs learned to walk. they want to stay on the ground. the PS3 is the only console this generation that wants to teach them how to FLY! and they can if they werent so cheap and lazy. if you want to take anything to the next level, you're gonna HAVE TO learn something new.

PS3 Use Open GL-ES Library.”SDK Open Source”. This is good because independent programmer could start his own software on his back yard. The most challenging aspect of programming for ps3 and also xbox 360 is that both have parallel multicore architecture. My suggestion don’t believe every thing coming for PR sites, magazines or any pr media, all of them are been paid for what they publish. There Is no such a thing like difficult or simple for Good software developers, is about know how.

The crazy thing is those whining developers are doing nothing but hurting their own sales. Think what you are talking about devers! You're just throwing mud in the faces of the sustomers who have or want a PS3. Customers who are the reason you have a job and a career in the first place.

One developer telling others to leave the ring if they're having trouble developing for a complicated system doesn't really sound like sound advice to me. It's almost like giving a suicidal person a loaded gun. If developers are having that much trouble developing for a platform, they might just heed that advice and develop for other platforms. Team Ninja can't really talk too much though. They only have one game so far that's coming to a PS3. It just happens to be a game they've redone twice on the Xbox using pretty much the same engine. Let's see them talk tough when they have to port a game over from the 360 or develop one from the ground up on the PS3. Until then, their words are as useful as s#&t

i have to be honest im dissapointed in the many user comments that are degrading the PS3, sure it has its faults but do you people not understand that this constant negativity is off putting to many would be owners. I bought an original Xbox and was disapointed (i didnt tell the world) i then bought an Xbox 360 (lack of an alternative) and again i was disapointed, some of the games were good but the backward compatibility was so bad that only 3 out of my 15 xbox games played, one of those 3 Sega GT played slow, i got rid of my Xbox360 in April and replaced it with a PS3 and the hardware is far superior in terms of quality and usefulness. Yes there are no games but hey, its only been out for 4 months so frustratingly thats to be expected. The online service isnt even running yet, Home is due in October (equivalent to Live) i just think people should give it a chance. As for the whole argument that games look better on the Xbox 360 well thats also to be expected when the only comparison is ported games that were developed for the Xbox 360 in the first place. In time the tables will turn, exactly how many Xbox 360 owners would replace their consol with a PS3 if it broke, i think most of them because like it or not the Xbox isnt all that good and my ownership was a disapointment (the fan noise was a total let down) . All we have at the moment is lots of young people shouting mine is better than yours because they have one over the other. I dont care, i can afford both and a Wii if i chose to because im an adult lol. Stop moaning and be patient and if your truly unhappy then sell up and buy an xbox

Good for him, i say
you're not tying your development team down to any particular console if you expect them to be able to work for any or all of them
But i seem to remember him saying that Team Ninja had sub-teams, a PS3 gang, a Wii gang, and a 360 gang
