We went through several stages with today's video picks. First, we thought, "Spinning Princess? An ice skating game for DS? That's going to suck." The next stage, after starting the video, left us saying, "This isn't so bad." Later in the video, we were closer to our original opinion but glad to have made the journey with these Japanese trailers.
An ice skating game based on touch-screen controls? Maybe it could actually work. Is this that game? See for yourself after the break.
Hmm... Judging from the videos, looks like it's more than just ice skating. Character dress-up, lots of dialogue scenes, and some mini-games. Japanese game staples.
I love how those mini-games and the skating touch action have NOTHING to do with skating. it could be a horse racing game with exact same playaction. or biking, swimming...
oh crap, I'm giving Nintendo ideas, watch them release 20 exact same games, like they did with Nintendogs. :)

Did the touch action in Elite Beat Agents have anything to do with dancing? For that matter, in Elite Beat Agents, did the dancing on the lower screen have anything to do with saving puppies and fighting aliens on the top screen?
Xbox 360 banner in the associated image! Confirmation that this is coming to the 360! You heard it here first! Lololololololololaughoutfuckingloudolol!
whether it's good or bad, this game is a textbook example of why the DS is destroying the PSP. A game like this would never work--or be even conceived--for a conventional system. Of course, to balance out my comment, there are also games like "Tony Hawk" that serve a similar purpose.
If this ends up being a good game, I can totally see EA, or some other american developer, blatantly copy this in time for the next winter olympics. Americans love their figure skating!

So what we have here is textbook example how an excessively popular game from arcades to 360 spawns uninspired clones as a strength for DS? I mean, the figure skating game looks fun but when I see a dog, I don't exactly yell out "squirrel" to confuse the nearby stupid folk.
@megaStryke: Huh? Where? I didn't see the 360 logo anywhere...
@"OMG PERVERTED" comments: Are you dumb? First off, this game is rated A by CERO, which is their equivalent of ESRB's E. So, there's little (if any) objectionable content in the game. Second, the game was made with young girls in mind.
