Father-son event at Nintendo world store

The Singers walked away with the "hot Wii," which we don't know if that means stolen, and a copy of the Wii Big Brain Academy. The best part is the father, Rick Singer, went to New York on a whim with his son, he says, "I asked my son to come to New York with me for Father's Day, but he said he'd only come if we could go to the Nintendo World store." So, dad wants to spend time with son, son wants to visit the Nintendo World Store, and they walk away with a Wii. Not a bad bonding experience.

So wait, the father had to ask the son out on Father's Day?

The son probably would have spent the day with his dad but going to NYC was a whim. I went there last week and it was good experience. Also 30 others means 15 other teams so there was a 16 team tournament.

So when do we start fighting over whether the new or old Battlestar Galactica is better? That pic is clearly inviting such flames. ;)

I only saw off and on the first two seasons of New and few samplings of Old. My dad could probably inform me but I'm much more of a Trekkie and Star Wars fan.

is it just me or has nintendo's pr department really taken it up a notch this generation? they stay in the headlines and it's either good news about how they're dominating or it's little blurbs like this, something dorky but nice. they're advertising effectively and creatively. they've reestablished their brand name with all new mojo. they've escaped unscathed from potentially bad news stories like the drought of games, poorly implemented wiimote functionality, shortages, etc. ust seems like everything's working for them right now.

How is this dorky? I would have loved to take my daughter to this. I guess if you're a teenager or don't have kids I can see how you would think it was dorky.

I'm a teenager (going legal) and I'd still go to that event with my dad.
