Nintendo Museum tour video, with 8 bit music
We previously posted about the awesomeness of the Nintendo Museum that was set up temporarily in Osaka, but we doubt many of you ran out of the house, bought a plane ticket, and flew over to enjoy it.
Now you can do it from the comfort of ... wherever you happen to be sitting right now. Check out the video tour and take a virtual spin through the world of vintage Nintendo. Now with no pushing or shoving.

quanmadrid @ Jun 17th 2007 3:53PM
Dude, GameTrailers SOOO stole this from Gamevideos. I'm pretty sure the music is by someone from the 1up network as well.
Capt. Castellanos @ Jun 17th 2007 4:07PM
oh man.
that donkey kong part at the end was the funniest thing ever.
this video was really relaxing for some reason.
Tony Blair @ Jun 17th 2007 4:19PM
Maybe you find all the toys relaxing...
Who knows what kind of debauchery lies on your hard drive :(
Kevin @ Jun 17th 2007 4:25PM
@ #3
GT didn't "steal" this video. It's a user movie, meaning a user uploaded it.
quanmadrid @ Jun 17th 2007 4:33PM
@ number 6
rather, Joystiq should be a little more responsable and post the original source of the clip.
You're right, it is user submitted and Gametrailers didn't technically steal the video, but they're stealing hits.
Tacoman @ Jun 17th 2007 4:43PM
They even had all the Club Nintendo presents on display! I'm surprised Nintendo doesn't have a museum like that set up year-round in Kyoto, even Bandai has a pretty large one outside of Tokyo.
And hell yeah for $45 Donkey Kong shirt there at the end. I would have wound up broke if I had attended.

It was on the NOT THE 1UP SHOW first before anywhere else.
Tony Blair @ Jun 17th 2007 4:54PM
Who cares where it was on first? Don't get your panties in a twist.
Chris @ Jun 17th 2007 4:58PM
I think it's interesting that Nintendo never really changed the font, even after they made the obvious switch from games and such to actual video games and hardware.
Also, it would be amazing if they did a tour in the US. I think they'd do pretty well, and if it was in or near Colorado I'd definitely go.
Poisoned Al @ Jun 17th 2007 6:15PM
Nintendo made Twister?
Poisoned Al @ Jun 17th 2007 6:26PM
Also I have have to say that disk drive was an awesome idea! I wonder why wasn't it rolled our for the NES.
Velops @ Jun 17th 2007 7:02PM
To Poisoned Al:
Nintendo didn't invent the game. Nintendo was simply the distributor of the Japananese version of the game in Japan.
binarydeath @ Jun 17th 2007 7:41PM
Sooo fucking cool. All those Famicom games in their original boxes in pristine condition, wow. I wonder how much the entire museum collection is worth. What was the name of that first song?? Why did those dudes have The King of Games under their names?? I've been envious of the Japanese for years, so much gaming awesomeness over there. They're so lucky! I wish the Arcade scene was still alive over here in the USA, like the good old days of SF2, MK and KI.
John @ Jun 17th 2007 8:12PM
I will top this someday Mark my words
Joshua @ Jun 17th 2007 7:48PM
The King of Games sells of a lot of gaming clothing and stuff, which is what that ad was at the end.

Also, that website says the music in the video is "some dork who goes under the name '6955'". The link to his site is:

And Poisoned Al (#13), here's a little article FamicomJL of Famicom World wrote up regarding why he though an "American Disk System" would not have worked:

Great video, by the way, but please link to the GameVideos one, since the larger version over there is in the correct aspect ratio.
binarydeath @ Jun 17th 2007 9:50PM
Joshua thanks for the links dude. The King of Games has a Metroid shirt I want, but it's 50 dollars. Ouch! I can't resist though, I love Metroid. 6955 music is on soulseek for those interested. I just finished getting an album, it's awesome. Crazy 8-bit experimental music. Definitely worth a purchase. I'll be on the lookout for their CD's. Sounds like some of the weird stuff Mike Patton's done. Which is a huge compliment since he's my favorite artist.

Whoa... That doll shown at 2:20 looks vaguely familiar to the human girls in Animal Crossing...
Joshua @ Jun 18th 2007 8:10AM
Yeah, they're shirts have really nice designs, but the prices are a bit high for me. If I had a bit more money to throw around, I'd definitely jump on some of them. They say the shirts are "high-quality", and by the looks of it, they definitely are.
BPM (#19), I thought the same thing. :)
