David, I don't know why you think it's so special - it's just "Complete this campaign", "Get these number of kills in multiplayer", "Get these number of kills with a weapon in multiplayer". The only news is the meta-game, really, and that's just "score X points in meta-game."

It's not like Bomberman LIVE's chickfight or cowboy achievements.

I plan on getting all of these. Nuff said.

Nice Marathon throwback reference. Kinda makes me think Cortana will be going "rampant". Or maybe the terminals unlock Marathon 2, and thats why MS pulled the info off of the german ratings board site?

Hopefully the terminals will be full of f---ed up literary s--- like they were in the Marathon trilogy.

This is terrible. Almost all of those multiplayer achievements can be earned in a solid day of playing.

I was really counting on some "Win 5,000 matches" or "Reach this impossibly high rank" to look forward to.

The Campaign achievements are very boring and the values are way off for the various difficulties.

I hope these change.

@12: I agree. Having the same number of points for completing both Normal and Heroic is stupid. Mind you, I like that you can unlock them all at the same time if you play through on Heroic straight off ;)

I completely agree with Jim. Achievements are rediculed for being too easy to get. Then Halo 3's achievements come out, and XB360 Fanboy says they're great? I think they blow. The only real positive I see is the retroactive achievements. That is something games should finally start doing. I just beat Guitar Hero on Expert, but I have to go back and play all the songs on medium, easy, and hard to get those achievments. Obviously I can do it, but it's not worth my time! So that is a big advancement. I also like achievements like maybe next time, because that's sort of a funny thing that happens once in a while. But there are no real achievements there that I would brag about. I think GoW's achievements are cool because they are something to be proud of--they're actual ACHIEVEMENTS. Sure, maybe most people won't put in the time to get them, but if they're easy to get, they wouldn't be worth achieving, right?

Look at it this way: In GoW, when you're waiting for a game to load or whatever, if you do the "compare games" thing with another gamer, it's actually worthwhile. I'm disappointed by Halo 3's achievements, and maybe even more disappointed that xbox360 fanboy loved them so much

Too many multiplayer achievements... some of us don't like playing online.

I like them because they arn't going to make people play too much differently for the most part... Like in gears you get the whinning punks that want to get the x kills with x weapon....

i hate how a lot of them make you play rumble slayer. i hate rumble slayer and would have much preferred those same achievements but not in FFA.

I like most of them. I like it when they build up. Plus I got all of the multiplayer except double kill with the laser in the Beta. I like decent achievements where you can get them without spending hundreds of hours online. I will but I don't want to be worrying about MP achievements when GoW 5 comes out.

i like them but i can honestly get th mutiplayer ones in 1 full day of play no problem i mean legendary might take a little bit more time but i say within the first week ill have 1000 out of 1000 i say put one in there like gears get 10000 kills i love those it gives you somthing to work for

Good they're not focusing on Multiplayer achievements. I’m sick of people on gears ranked just whoring with one weapon to get achievements.

sometimes i think bungie could take a dump and label it halo4 and then everyone would say how it's the best game ever with "awesome achievments"

Those achievements are very average at best. Im pretty disappointed. The only fun ones are kill a vehicle with 3 people in it and kill 2 people with one laser shot (I managed to pull off both in the beta so suck those non-points Halo). Anyway some of them are just weak...5 needler kills in a FFA thats so pathetic it shouldnt even count for 5 points.

I think the biggest thing in there is that it tells you that there (other than the meta-game, which I assume means you get a sort of
"dossier" on your game after you complete a mission to see how well you did) is that there's going to be equipment in the Campaign, I didn't think that was announced before, I thought they were strictly MP.

Also, you guys need to remember that MS allows for up to 250 (I think?) more GPs to be added after the game is shipped. The first halo 3 map pack? Expect an update with a couple more 5-ers and a few of those "DO THIS RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF KILLING AND GET A BODACIOUS SCORE, DUDE!"

I'll agree in that these achievements aren't too hard, and why so much emphasis on Free for all? I play as a team, preferably, a co-op team...

omg. Too many campaign achievments. And the multiplayer achievments are only in rumble pit. WTF. Where is team slayer/skirmish? I hate rumble pit. BS. Now I gotta play rumble pit and get those damn achievments as fast as possible.

They really need to add to the list or change it up some how. All these achevements are way to easy and an average gamer could easily get them in around a week. I am honestly disappointed i love the Halo franchise and Halo 3 is going to be the best game ever, but please put chalanging achevements I honestly could get every one in about a day.

I'm sorry, but these achievements are flat out BORING. And easy, just in the time for the beta I got every MP achievement but two.

Sorry for the Double Post, but how about something original? Like Finish a level without firing a weapon? Or finish a level on Legendary under a certain amount of time. IDK, these just suck. I've seen much, much, MUCH, better fan made lists.

People get so worked up over achievement points like they mean something. I have about 1600 achievement points because I play games that I want to play when I want to play them and don't flip out about playing a game I hate just to get my gamerscore higher. I really think that is kind of pathetic in a way, and it doesn't prove you are better or worse than anyone else. I know people with 20,000 achievement points because they spend every second renting games and playing them JUST for the points, and that is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

I would destroy most of the people concerned with getting their gamerscore higher in any game, furthermore proving that these achievement points mean absolute shit, but damn do people like to bitch about them like they mean something!

I agree with most of you i love halo 1 and 2 and with the achievements halo 3 should rock. Iffff they put in some multi-player achievements, both killing and completion achievements. Beef up some of the online achievements eg (keep the same type of achievements but make it so you have to do them multiple times) and ajust the points you get for normal heroic and legendary.

But WTF is this meta game stuff????
