"we have no idea if they'll be more GH 1 rehashes or actual new songs."

New songs? Why on Earth would they do that yet (or ever)? Expect GH1 songs or GH:80s songs and nothing more.

I certainly hope it's Rock the 80s. The 360 version, while having a few nice additions, has yet to fully justify my investment in it...

Just give us the Rock The 80's song pack for $20-$30 and you'll make a killing. That's all you need to do. Don't need the graphics or environments. Just the song pack.

We were tricked into buyign this game. They said it would have more content than anything else ont he marketplace. They didnt say we'd have to buy it in packs, or for a much too expensive price, or even the fact that it would take forever to get here. before it was released they tried to make it sound like theyd have all the gh:1 songs ready to go and on the marketplace in like 2 weeks. and then after we buy this one they announce another one (80s), and the fact that they'll be coming out yearly? what a joke, i hate these games now what a waste of money. none of my guitars work properly either!

I wonder how profitable it would be to make just a base "Guitar Hero" game and then release just expansions like extra songs, characters, locations, etc. So you start with all the GH1 material, but then can pay $20-$30 to download all the GH2 material, and so forth.

I bought this game in hopes that it would get great DLC. Instead, we have three way-overpriced packs, and there hasn't been any more in over two months. At least the core songs are good.

I was kind of assumed that the long silence meant that they were dealing with the problem in some fashion or other (or abandoning the endeavor altogether).

Hopefully they'll just give the 80s version as an expansion (a la Shivering Isles if at all) instead of piecemeal like they tried with the Guitar Hero I songs.

If it is the 30-song Rock the 80s content, don't expect to pay any less than $50 for it since that's what the PS2 version will cost. Hopefully it won't be any more than that.

Personally, I'd rather have more GHI songs for a lesser price.

Totally on the more GH1 songs for cheaper. I picked up GH1 again last night, just for kicks (after completing GH2 on expert), and GH1 is freaking hard on "hard" mode because the hammer ons and pull offs are so F'd up. It's like a completely different game.

Maybe because it is, but even still, it would be nice to have GH1 songs with GH2 gameplay.

I'm betting it's going to be the 30-odd songs from Rock the 80s, at $3 a pop.

$90 digital version of a $50 game, anyone?

They have not only dropped the ball on this feature, they've allowed it to roll away and fall in the sewer.

Cash money says it's a mediocre announcement with only a token number of downloads. It will tide people over until GH3 this fall, when the DLC magically EXPLODES out of nowhere!

Buy our NEW game it will REALLY have download content this time... guys... guys... why are you wandering off to Rock Band???

Hey Apples, you nring up a good point. GH has shaken its fan base with is DLC policies. Rock Band has an excellent opportunity to pick up the ball and offer a reasonable, robust, and flexible plan when it comes to its DLC.

GH 2 totally taking us for a ride - $90+ for the whole GH1 - sold us on the downloadable content that's way over priced and doesn't come out in a timely manner. Marketplace is over pricing a lot of it's content - Xbox sup with the disrespect of your customers that support you - Apple come out with a system already!?!!?!?
