Ubisoft dates Haze, Splinter Cell, Raving Rabbids 2, more [update]
Ubisoft has revealed the release dates for all of its major 2007 titles, asking the majority of them to form a neat line in November and proceed to remove the contents of your wallet one by one. You're more than welcome to make a fuss about it, but having the sneaky men of Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell: Conviction within grasp of your neck renders such action unwise.
A more notable entry in the release schedule (as posted by Eurogamer) is Free Radical's sci-political first-person shooter, Haze, previously described as "leading on PS3" in a display of timed exclusivity:

7 days of exclusivity. I was thinking PS3 had this title for a few months before 360 got it!
Thats hardly exclusive at all.
sheppy @ Jun 19th 2007 12:42PM
Good to see others getting Haze as well. Sooner it turns a profit, sooner we see Timesplitters 4.
Tadioku @ Jun 19th 2007 12:43PM
why is Haze so popular and important? I have a PS3 but I'm not really exited about the game though it looks good its just not what I'm looking for
bearattack79 @ Jun 19th 2007 12:43PM
^^ HAZE ^^
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 12:46PM
heh, sounds like Haze for PS3 was delayed and now its more than far enough away to avoid Halo confusion on the 360. so much for that Haze "exclusivity"...
.
sheppy @ Jun 19th 2007 12:47PM
@Tadioku
Haze is important because of who's behind it. Free Radical formed from a bunch of people that splintered from Rare shortly after Goldeneye on N64. They went on to create the phenominal Timesplitters series and Second Sight. That's why Haze is so popular and important.
Luigi193 @ Jun 19th 2007 12:47PM
Yeah Rayman!!!! This time I want more story!!!
Snarkstar @ Jun 19th 2007 12:47PM
OK so already I'm out $180 in November. This is shaping up to be the most wallet sucking holiday season ever.
Konny @ Jun 19th 2007 12:48PM
Not much for Wii except for mini-games (Rabbids) ... i guess they ran out of PS2/GC games to port after the wii launch.
Stevo @ Jun 19th 2007 12:49PM
Only a week between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions? haha...what a joke.
Revolver @ Jun 19th 2007 12:52PM
Konny, you forgot about Brothers in Arms on the Wii (coming September 21)
felixlighter @ Jun 19th 2007 12:54PM
If exclusive GTA IV DLC costs Microsoft $50 million, how much does a 7 day exclusive cost for a new IP? 50 bucks? I don't think your going to get to many people to buy a $500-$600 piece of hardware to avoid a 7 day wait for a title we know little about.
Before I get attacked by Sony fans, this isn't a knock on the PS3 or Sony; I just find it odd.
Trio @ Jun 19th 2007 12:58PM
Haze for Xbo360 too..? damn PS3 need more exclusives
Triforceowner @ Jun 19th 2007 12:58PM
If you have a PS3, get Haze. That thing is your yearly Resistance.
sheppy @ Jun 19th 2007 12:58PM
Welll, Haze WILL be missing Black Friday on 360 and PC....
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 1:03PM
and Splinter Cell: Conviction isn't even coming to PS3 at all.
only Sony's 1st party studios can rescue the PS3.
Sony can't rely on MGS4 to stay exclusive nor FFXIII to move all they consoles they need.
PS: rfom, wherever you are. i'm now officially bored of owning you.
.
Scott @ Jun 19th 2007 1:06PM
#15 - And you think PC and 360 owners will be running out and buying a PS3 + Haze on Black Friday because they are incapable of waiting 7 days?
quazi @ Jun 19th 2007 1:07PM
wow i did not know the new Splinter cell was 360 only i thought they would be putting it out for ps3 at same time.
sony get off your ass and spend some money for a longer exclusive time than a week
mccomber @ Jun 19th 2007 1:15PM
I'd always taken the "leading on ps3" to mean it was being developed with the ps3 hardware in mind, not as much that it was going to have exclusivity, timed or not.
felixlighter @ Jun 19th 2007 1:17PM
@sheppy
Good eye but I only see that hurting Ubisoft. People are not going to go shopping on Black Friday for Haze, find out that the game won't be released for the Xbox 360 until the next week and just buy a PS3 instead.
If a person has a 360 and wants Haze that person will buy the 360 version. If a person has PS3 and wants Haze that person will buy the PS3 version. If a person has neither and that person wants Haze I doubt they will base there decision on a 7 day wait for this game. GTA IV, Halo 3, MGS 4 or Final Fantasy XIII would affect that decision more than Haze itself. The only people I see basing their decision on this 7 day wait are the people who own both the 360 and the PS3 and that seems like such a small group. Why bother? I guess I'll never know.
Avatar @ Jun 19th 2007 1:26PM
Wait, TimeSplitters was phenomenal? It felt so sloppy to me, control wise. Although I only played the second one, but I didn't really enjoy it, and I'd hardly say it was phenomenal.
BulletToothTony @ Jun 19th 2007 1:29PM
haze was never an exclusive, it was always known that it was leading on ps3, that's it.. man haters love to make up stuff. ."ha ps3 looses another exclusive" it's getting old isn't it.. the only important thing.. hopefully it's true.. is that it lead on ps3, i'm tired of silly, crappy ports, and then gamespot bragging that ps3's graphics are bad..
haha what a joke.. if a game leads on ps3, then they will see the difference, but i'm sure gamespot will not make such a comparison.. i don't care if we don't get exclusives.. all i care is good working games with all the features that the game is suppose to have, unlike call of duty 3 which lazy ass devs decided to cut the voice feature on multiplayer..
bunch of idiots.. the worse is the wii, they ported games that you can't even see texture on buildings, they should put a little more effort being that they would make a few more millions if they cared
rfom @ Jun 19th 2007 1:33PM
Well Digi small here i am with a little list for you
Firstly, 2007 June-Dec exlcusives - spot the difference in the two numbers (or lack thereof)
PS3: Ratchet, Heavenly, Ninja Gaiden S, Lair, Warhawk, Drake: uncharted, Folksoul, Singstar, Hot shots Golf
360: (the one supposedly getting all the exclusives this fall): Splinter Cell 5, Halo 3, Mass Effect, 2 Human, Forza 2, PGR 4, Mistwalker RPG, ACe combat 6
Seems more or less even to me.
And why MS is so desperate to pay 50mil for just 2 GTA episodes - the exclusives line-up for 2008:
360: Fable 2, the next MW RPG, Banjo Kaj and thats all (maybe missed some odd name)
PS3: MGS4, FF13, Killzone 2, GT5, Little Big Planet, Getaway, White knight story, team Ico, Resistance 2, Driver 5, Wipeout, maybe two cellius games, and if not vaporware - Africa / 8 days
Maybe the question of exclusivity of MGS4 / FF13 is a matter of survival for 360 more than PS3 - with their big Fall 07 launch barely matching PS3, the 360 is getting absolutely hammered in 2008 if these 2 remain PS3 exclusives.
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 1:36PM
BTTony,
one difference we won't be seeing on multi-platform "PS3 lead" titles is the $200 difference of a Blu-Ray drive.
unless they add content (or just a whole movie like with Stranglehold) the $200 *gaming* investment in Blu-Ray remains very dubious.
.
Trio @ Jun 19th 2007 1:37PM
PC GOODNESS FOR 2007:
- Crysis
- Bioshock
- Brothers in Arm Hell Highway
- Medal of Honor Airborne
- Call of Duty 4
- Half Life 2 EP 2
- Call of Juarez
- Enemy Territory Quake Wars
- Haze
- Ghost Recon AWF 2
Damn most of this games are comming out for Xbox360 too, damn and damn, PC need more exclusives too...
Ninegauger @ Jun 19th 2007 1:41PM
Wow... a week of exclusivity for Haze. Does that even make a difference? I imagine that only makes a difference for someone with both a PS3 and a 360 in which case I can imagine somebody waiting a week for the promise of Achievements (assuming the versions are roughly equivalent in quality). Hope nobody paid for that exclusivity...
mat parker @ Jun 19th 2007 1:42PM
rfom
2 Halo Games
Marvel Online
Driver 5 ain't exclusive (or announced as far as I know)
APB
Universe at War: Earth Assault
Postal 3
rfom @ Jun 19th 2007 1:42PM
And also, notice how closely clustered so may AAA titles are this fall, its frightening as it could be e a disaster financially for developers.
If we count really top-notch titles:
2006 second half: Gears, Zelda, FF12 (No, I am not going to include R:FOM here!)
2007 first half: Motorstorm, Crackdown, maybe Lost Planet
and look at 2007 second half: Haze, Halo3, UT3, GTA4, Assasin's creed, Lair, Mass Effect, Heavenly, etc etc
Sounds like as many as 20 big budget titles, all out with 3-4 months AND with the next-gen console base still at a measly 15 odd million.
Could be a lot of trouble in the long run if this ends in a lot of developers going bankrupt.
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 1:44PM
rfom, haven't you been you been told enough times to leave your desperate lists on the tissues you use to wipe away your tears?
we don't know whats really coming out in 2008. there are so many unannounced games from both Sony, MS and 3rd parties between there and now so, please. just drop it.
even after this E3, there will be tons of games not ready to be announced but are still in the works. all your pathetic future lists are meaningless. did you know about Haze last year? didn't think so.
.
Dan @ Jun 19th 2007 1:59PM
Crysis will pwn haze... and don't you forget it!
Pretty Obvious @ Jun 19th 2007 2:15PM
Wow besides Heavenly Sword and Lair Sonys exclusives for the remainder of the year look very lackluster. No wonder a price drop is in the works. As far as potential goes, we can see a new God of War and new Gran Turismo for PS3 at some point, but that alone cant counter Microsofts strong 1st party lineup. Not to mention MGS4 may become a 360 title taking yet another exclusive title away.
For a system thats supposed to make me work an extra job and take out a loan to play it, they sure arent impressing anybody. All multiplatform games seem to look better and play better on the 360, not to mention Xbox Live is leagues ahead of Sonys free bs service. Sony needs to step up their first party titles and quick cause Microsoft is making it rain on they ass.
lawrence @ Jun 19th 2007 2:17PM
only one good one:assassins creed.but ill still wait for metal gear solid 4
fragglefart @ Jun 19th 2007 3:07PM
@ lawrence;
Assassins Creed is now leading on 360.
So, the previously supposed "Halo killer" PS3 exclusive, then whoops timed exclusive, is now spaced by just seven days? Hahahaha... I guess Ubisoft want the game to be a success after all. Fair play to them.
Jake @ Jun 19th 2007 3:18PM
rfom,
A couple of things to point out. First, Singstar, Folklour or whatever, and Hot Shots are hardly a big deal and barely worth mentioning, imo. If you mention that, you gotta mention a lot of 360 console exclusive games and arcade games as well.
Second, I hate how you Sony fanboys always pretend like console exclusive games don't matter. The 360 is getting a healthy chunk of major titles that the PS3 will not be getting. If you are comparing the two systems, you have to count that. Most PC gamers do not own a 360 or PS3. That is a fact. I think it is a good thing that I get to play Bioshock on my 360. I guarantee if PS3 was getting the PC love and 360 was getting nada, you would be all over it, and for good reason. So, here is some stuff to add to your list.
360 console exclusive games (i.e. no PS3 version)
Overlord
Two Worlds (big game)
Project Sylpheed (budget title)
Vampire Rain
Bioshock (massive game, omfg it looks sick)
Call of Juarez
Games you conveniently forgot that are, I believe, 360 exclusive or console exclusive at least:
Blue Dragon (for US folk, big game)
Eternal Sonata (big game, maybe Japan only, not sure)
Lost Odyssey (big game, maybe Japan only, not sure)
TimeShift (not seeing a PS3 version announced this year. Perhaps I have a crappy list)
America's Army
Beautiful Katamari
And believe me, I left some titles out that I thought sounded really sucky like Tenchu Z and Hour of Victory or whatever that horrible WWII game we get in a week is. The demo sucked, so it isn't on my list.
Honestly, you have to be living in absolute fantasy world if you think the PS3 is getting just as many good games from now until 2008 as the 360 is getting.
Digi, it is so fun owning rfom. Despite his admirable effort, he is helpless at defending the faltering PS3.
Snukadaman @ Jun 19th 2007 3:27PM
what about home...little big planet....umm umm....wait let me jump in my time machine and ill have another list of coming games....showing the ps3 coming out of third place and into..well..2008 and still in third...forget it..carry on
PS!CHO @ Jun 19th 2007 3:50PM
Damn, My PS3 is getting dusty! Seriously, PS3 is basically getting a bunch of lousy ports (FEAR anyone?), the only games that I am getting (coming off the top of my head) are MGS4, FF13, LittleBigPlanet, Warhawk, and Home (not even a game). Does this mean my $600 went down the drain? I hope PS3 starts to do better, theres no way to go but up!
ExMcloud @ Jun 19th 2007 4:05PM
16. and Splinter Cell: Conviction isn't even coming to PS3 at all.
only Sony's 1st party studios can rescue the PS3.

Thank you I've been tryin to say that forever!!! GOD..Why do people give Sony a break because their FP studio sux. Yes they have some good games like Ratchet and I know Drakes fortune will be killer..But they should by know way depend on 3rd party companies to save them. That's one thing you have to give to Nintendo and MS..They both have established FP games that represent their systems and they are blockbuster games...Sony needs more than GOW and GT
sheppy @ Jun 19th 2007 5:02PM
@Jake
Well, Hot Shots 5 is looking to have some major importance, at least in Japan. Preorders are already over 300,000.
ExMcloud
Ummm.... HOW IS SONY NOT REPRESENTING THEIR OWN CONSOLE? Between now and christmas, Sony has 15 of their own games dropping on the system. Don't care how you slice it, that's a lot of games to come from one company. And yes, they HAVE more than GOW and GT. And in case you missed it, GT is next year. So yes, they will be lacking those two series this year but in their place are titles like Heavenly Sword, Lair, Warhawk, SOCOM, R&C... and FUCK, WHAT AM I DOING?!? I hate lists. So allow me to end it with "you're an idiot."
JonnyBoy2U @ Jun 19th 2007 5:23PM
LMAO....a week of "exclusivity".
Thats classic.
And all the sony fanboys were so sure it was a ps3 exclusive...I'm loving my Elite right now.
Chainblast @ Jun 19th 2007 5:29PM
I'm not going to deny the X360 has some good exclusives this fall, but I wouldn't count Bioshock or Two Worlds. You can bitch all you want about it being "console" exclusive, but the very truth of the matter is that I don't have to buy a X360 to play either. And in fact, Two Worlds is heading to PS3, according to Gamespot. Even so I would expect the X360 to have more games in its 3rd Xmas. For its holiday run I think the PS3 is lining up quite well.
Even then, the X360 "super library" is cut in half if you don't like FPS games.
Vidikron @ Jun 19th 2007 5:31PM
@Jake
What is with you today? You keep making rather questionable comments.
[A couple of things to point out. First, Singstar, Folklour or whatever, and Hot Shots are hardly a big deal and barely worth mentioning, imo. If you mention that, you gotta mention a lot of 360 console exclusive games and arcade games as well.]
Who really knows about Singstar, but given the popularityof games like GH these days, who knows? Folks Soul looks good. That game really does potenial, especially in Japan. I don't know how you can really knock that game and then turn around and list Blue Dragon for the 360. Folks Soul will easily do better in Japan (given the 360 troubles there) and, if it's good, may do well here. It certainly has as good a shot as Blue Dragon. Sheppy alreayd pointed out your flaw with HSG. It may not be a big deal in the US, but it's huge in Japan. I myself plan on purchasing the game. HSG has always beena fun series. No doubt the 360 has a good line-up, but the PS3s drought will be ending this fall and on into next year, pretend it isn't so all you want, but the line-up speaks for itself.
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 5:37PM
Sony definitely has the IP and the studios Shep.
but a lot of these "15 games" you mention are downloadable multiplayer only or casual games that won't make much of a perceptual impact against full retail games. they aren't exactly taking advantage of the Blu-Ray Sony is asking gamers to invest extra money na'mean?
making WarHawk and Socom multiplayer-only is tragic in my eyes. unlike Heavenly Sword, Lair or Uncharted, these are legacy IPs that had an avid singleplayer audience for years.
for Sony to do this with two of their most revered in-house franchises is an enormous let down, and i suspect, forced by their current circumstances. not a good look.
.
Triforceowner @ Jun 19th 2007 5:44PM
The idea that BioShock and Two Worlds aren't exclusive is to the 360 is border-line idiotic. Why don't you go tell someone in a store to buy a PS3 because BioShock isn't a 360 exclusive? You wouldn't, because when you got out into the parking lot and told the person who just bought a $600 console that they would now need a $1500 PC to play BioShock they would punch you in the face.
It is just not cost effective to look at the 360 and say, "Why would I want to pay $400 for that and get the best of the PC and consoles when I could buy a PS3 and a new PC!" See, border-line idiotic.
Vidikron @ Jun 19th 2007 5:49PM
[making WarHawk and Socom multiplayer-only is tragic in my eyes. unlike Heavenly Sword, Lair or Uncharted, these are legacy IPs that had an avid singleplayer audience for years.]
Maybe SOCOM, but not Warhawk. What, this is the 2nd game?? SOCOMs big draw has always been the MP side anyway, but I'm a SP fan myself, so that will be missed. But I really don't think either is a "tragic". I'm currently in the WarHawk beta and the game is a lot of fun. Think Battlefield done right for consoles.
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 5:56PM
Vidi, for many real Playstation aficionados, of which many here claim to be, WarHawk was part of their very first Playstation experience. it was a launch game for the PS1 if i'm not mistaken.
you're right this is only the second WarHawk game but for many of us, it's a revered game for a different reason than Socom, it was revered because it represented the Playstation's very first foot forward. i'm not sure if it even had multiplayer. certainly not online.
.
Vidikron @ Jun 19th 2007 6:09PM
@45
I remember it well. I was a HUGE fan of SingleTrac. I even loved their games after they were bought by GT Interactive (Critical Depth & Rogue Trip). I had a friend who loved WarHawk and I watched him play it quite a bit. He was a fan of game like WarHawk and Jet Moto while I was more a fan of SingleTrac's vehicular combat games.
Anyway, I think you and I may be in a fairly small group overall. Not many people really bring up Warhawk often when discussion of great PSX games is going on. I really don't think it's as "revered" by the general public as you seem to think. I don't think the change to an MP game is going to matter to most people. As I said before, I'm in the beta and love the game... and I am someone who remembers the original very well.
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 6:22PM
yeah i certainly don't think i represent the mainstream (i have a PS3 for instance), thats why i said "in my eyes".
WarHawk seems really fun, but it could have been, and SHOULD have been what Sony promised us in all those E3s past. a complete game that fully represented the PS3. now it won't even fill up a DVD.
as for the mainstream, i don't expect downloadable games are going to get gamers to invest the extra $200 for a PS3.
.
Digi Smalls @ Jun 19th 2007 6:25PM
especially if they see the same (and more) 3rd party games on the 360 . to bring it back on topic.

Sorry Xbots, the 360 and PC dates are incorrect. They're still TBA.
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=78000
"Update: A spokesperson for Ubisoft has told Eurogamer this morning that yesterday's release schedule was incorrect. Haze is still to be confirmed for PC and Xbox 360, apparently, so the 30th November date now slips into the realms of TBA. The exclusive PS3 date remains the same."
unrealy2k @ Jun 20th 2007 1:51PM
Don't forget that the 360 gets most of the good PC games unlike the PS3.
@rfom like even though Bioshock isn't 360 only for example. It's still a console exclusive and thats what matters here. Console exclusives are more important than straight up exclusives. Also you can't possibly believe that Msoft has nothing coming out next year, your forgetting Gears of War 2, I bet its gonna be announced when MGS4 comes out
I just wish we were getting Crysis on the 360, I think it can totally handle it. Cause I know my Macbook Pro with an ATI X1600 might run it at 10 fps on low settings making the game suck.
PLEASE PORT
