The game looks technically pretty, but I really am not a huge fan of the art style - those are some ugly-looking dragons, in my opinion. They don't look graceful, the ratty wings are rather absurd, they have body shapes closer to robins rather than a more serpentine look, and their heads look like they were chopped off of that horrible Godzilla remake of the late 90s.

Actually I would like to see how many of copies they sell. Considering PS3 has nothing available then maybe alot but Panzer Dragoon sucked on the Saturn and this looks like Panzer Dragoon 3 which will also suck. Sony needs to make something people might like say Twisted Metal Black 2. Hell they are even screwing up Warhawk.

I actually like the art style and how the dragons are designed. It shows imperfections, wear and tear, and a sense of realism in the dragon. You can't expect them to be perfect-looking dragons or show no damage or wear on them. I like the direction they took in the artwork for this game. Every creator and author of books or fictional stories or games featuring dragons and wyrms all have their own interpretations of these fire-breathing, reptilian beasts. You can't also expect all of them to look the same or there won't be any sense of variety in them. The game also reminds me of Panzer Dragoon from the Saturn. This is like a spiritual successor to that game, but completely different. If I had a PS3, I would definitely get this game.

Panzer The Dragon Orta was a better dragon game. This game is all visuals. Lame.

Those dragons do look fuck ugly. Which is a shame. Dragons are supposed to be magnificent, mythical, awesome creatures. Instead sony of whoever made this game has created genetic rats with wings.

And what is the story behind this game? Is there any substance behind this game other than the great graphics?

This is one of the few games I want to play for the PS3. Still haven't played Resistance since no one I know has a PS3.

I really gotta sk this. Grog, in real life, what around that size looks graceful? The bigger things get, the uglier they get.

That trailer was awesome, but I would have rather seen some gameplay. You don't even need a game to have an awesome pre-rendered battle scene.

And I don't mind the dragon look, except for how pudgy they are. Dragons are usually a bit more slender. The robin comment above was about right on. As far as colors, features, and textures on them I think they look sweet.

Well this is just CGI, no real gameplay, so really how are we to tell..

And yes this is Just eye candy, since its not gameplay.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. And how do you know this game will be "awesome" while you don't even know if Halo 3 will "suck" or not. Lair is currently awesome mostly because of the sick pre-rendered trailers it has shown. Hand's on reviews I've read indicate the game is very solid, worth excitement, but not mind blowing. It will probably be the best 2007 game you listed besides Gaiden and Ratchet(if it drops this year), and maybe Heavenly.

Wow...now I will buy a PS3! Actually this game does look decent, but I still won't buy a piece of shit 3. SONY this is the best you can do? Let's clear some things up. Killzone 2 has seen no updates and/or news since the Pre-rendered trailer shown at E3, Ninja Gaiden, well, that's been on the Xbox for a few years already. Metal Gear Solid 4 has a solid chance of being ported to the 360 due to the Xbox selling at a much more stable rate than the PS3. As for Final Fantasy XIII, Sony can keep for all I care.

So yeah, the PS3 will have the bloomtastic force of Heavenly Sword and Lair...cool.

I agree compltely with octoberasian , the dragons in this game look right to me in pretty much every way. They're supposed to be monsters killing each other mid-flight, showing the effects of a life of combat, not sages dispensing wisdom to children and world-weary knights of yore.
This will probably not be a system seller, but it's looking like (yet another) solid title coming to the ps3 this year. Hell, it's been in development for so long that it's got to be at least decent...

The picking apart of a game based on an all cg trailer is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen. Blatant fanboyism if you ask me. Are we sure this is a cgi trailer? The only reason I ask is because I don't think factor5 has used cgi at all in the past.

It's just a CGI trailer. Not actual gameplay. That being said, gameplay looks gorgeous.

Question: Is this CGI?
Answer: Yes, but not in the way you are thinking. CGI stands for Computer Generated Images (or Imagery). Anything that a computer/console renders out, be it the in-game graphics of your favorite game or previously rendered scenes of a Pixar movie, are all just sequences of digital information that is processed and displayed for you to see. Thus CGI. The exceptions to this are any form of photographs or captured video. These images were not originally generated by a computer, they were digitized in from an external source, and thus not CGI.

Now that we have established that pretty much everything you play nowadays is CGI, where does that leave this Liar clip? It is all rendered through the in-game graphics engine BUT is a pre-rendered sequence of animations. In other words, yes, its canned action and not actual game play, though the game play models will be of the same visual quality. The animations, I highly doubt, will be anywhere near as fluid when an actual player has control of the action.

I'm not ashamed to admit that that trailer made me a bit 'hard' down in my nether regions.

It's a shame Factor 5 have no originality.

No thanks. I used to be such a Factor 5 fanboy until I realised they haven't been original since the N64.
If this came out on the PC I might buy it, get it running native res on my 30" Apple cinema display. Unless they get rumble added sharpish.

This will be the first game to totally utilize the sixaxis. I have it pre ordered and even if they only sell one copy, it will be to me.

this will be my third PS3 game, first one i buy since Motorstorm.

alas, this poster child for motion control will still suffer greatly from lack of rumble. you need feedback (rumble) if you're going to involve the body (motion). see Wii.

Hold it JAKE! I aggree with you except..Killzone SUX... And we don't need a second one...Halo killer my ... U know what lets not swear but god that game was boring..Ninja Gaiden doesnt count and Home is not a game..Plus no one even knows if home can be sustained for a long period of time..Thats a lot of programming and alot of software knowledge that has to be implemented so we will see...But the other games you said I completely agree

Cutscenese look cool, but that can be said for almost any game. Even games on the PS2.

I want to see some gameplay. What does this game look like while you are playing? Is it a third-person view of the dragon? Is it a third-person view of the guy on the dragon? Is it a first-person view from the dragon's perspective or from the man's perspective?

Shom us some decent gameplay footage and you will have fewer naysayers.

I don't own a PS3, nor do I plan on buying one, but I definetly want to see how this games plays.
