Metareview: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas

Publisher Ubisoft was hush-hush about this quietly released PSP version of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas. We showed our readers early footage from the game, and it appeared that opinions were quite mixed on the game. The critics, on the other hand, are quite unanimous in their opinion:

Game Almighty (55/100) - "All in all, Rainbow Six: Vegas for the PSP falls short of the lofty standards set by this franchise. It doesn't perform the way you'd expect from a Tom Clancy game."
GameSpot (68/100) thinks the game could've been more: "The short campaign and limited multiplayer detract from what is otherwise a solid PSP shooter."
Gamer 2.0 (78/100) agrees with GameSpot: the game just needed to offer more: "Vegas doesn't quite have enough entertainment value to be worth it for anyone but the most hardcore of Rainbow Six fans."

The game currently has a Metascore of 59 from the critics. Do you agree? Do you disagree?

I have to agree with the low reviews

It's unacceptable to release this game in this fashion after the number of quality titles with similar gameplay that have been released over the past year. It's not a horrible game but Syphon Filter was released in early 06 and this is now mid 07 Cmon Ubisoft!

That is really unfortunate ... but thanks for the link - the PSPNation review was informative.

I am not a extreme gamer and I only own a PSP.

Vegas is the first game that I finish in 4 days. Socom and Syphon Filter took me a lot more time.

Those EXTRA suck! It took me a couple hours to unlock the 70% rating in the elite to get a friging picture! WTH!!

I did like this game a lot but yes people have good point on the negative side.

Wow, I didn't expect it to be that bad. I thought it's gonna be really cool, the screens looked promising and the original game on PC and consoles is awesome... too bad, really :(

They probably would have done better to do a unique project, Rainbow Six solo misions? or Disney land or just a new title like Vegas The C.E.S. massacre, just to change expectations.

I picked up this game and I would have to agree that it is below the standard of what I expected. I think that adding the cover was cool but Syphon Filter did it better. The controls of the game are what they should be, but Call of Duty did it better. The graphics are way under par. They looked like they got lazy on the textures. Over all I agree that they low scores are well deserved. I prefer the Socom titles over this title.
