cc123: "Media Create 4/30-5/27:
360: 9380
PS3: 40099

Totals:
360: 164,312
PS3: 121,703

Is that small amount the 360 has over the PS3 what your holding on so desperately to?"

So the difference in the combined sales in the US and Japan of the 360 and PS3 is 42,609 consoles.

That "small amount" (42,609) the 360 has over the PS3 is larger than the all of the sales of the PS3 for that month in Japan. It is like adding a complete extra sales region to the 360's sales!

That isn't a small amount when it comes to a sales difference.

If you did the same thing for the PS3 and 360 sales in April, the difference is around 61,000 consoles. If the PS3 keeps up these horrid sales (and I don't see why they would turn around any time soon), the 360 will stretch its lead month by month.

For that matter, 42,609 consoles is over 50% of all the sales of the PS3 in the US for May! And this is after adding in the 360's weakest territory. That's just sad.

i just want to hear the adjective you'd use for PS3's sales if 360's are "miserable"

42k consoles for an entire month across Japan and USA IS A SMALL AMOUNT. It's something either one of the consoles could make up rather quickly.

And I'm not saying the PS3 isn't doing badly! But is it so god damn hard to understand that the 360 is doing badly as well.

Well the sales for the first six months of both consoles are almost the same so you tell me.

360 was significantly supply constraint its first six months, the PS3 was only constrained for half that at best. so i guess i'd call it...... bad enough to get the PS3 architect and "Father of the Playstation" fired?

"360 was significantly supply constraint its first six months"

If it was so significantly supply constrained then after six months there should have been a sales explosion, right?

Looking at the chart Crono put a link for above it shows that the rate of growth for 360 is the same after 6 months as it was before 6 months. No explosion. The "supply constrained" theory is your fanboy bullshit.

Also do you really want to bring up architects? Considering the 360 design is flawed and all...

Everyone knows you couldn't find a 360 on shelves through March 2006. It was definitely supply constrained at launch.

Then after March, the 360's sales in the US were 295,000 for April, 221,000 for May, and 277,000 for June.

And let's see, where are the PS3's sales in April, May and June 2007? 82,000, 82,000 and June isn't over yet?

The PS3 started off with a pretty good bang, but it has fizzled out over the past 3 months. Look at the trends from month to month, not the total sales.

no i don't expect an 'explosion'. was there an 'explosion' for the PS3?

see? this whole thing started when you pointed fingers at people pointing fingers who weren't looking at their own platform of choice. i have a current favorite sure, but i have all the consoles.

you've gone at length at describing 360's sales but you still haven't described PS3's sales at all. so i'm calling you out on your bullshit and outing you as a fanboy. that's all.

i never said 360's sales were stellar either, funny huh.

Another one. 360 steadily climbing in the US. PS3 sales leveling off:

Another one. 360 has eclipsed the PS3's sales since the PS3 launched. Every single week has been a win for the 360:

Another one. Other than when the PS3 launched in Europe, the 360 has beaten the PS3 world-wide weekly sales ever since the PS3 launched in November 2006:

Right total sales don't matter what matters is the last couple of months. Good job Josh.

@Digi Smalls

"no i don't expect an 'explosion'. was there an 'explosion' for the PS3?"

Did I say there was? Saying something is significantly sales constrained implies there would be an increased growth rate when the supplies increase. The growth rate is steady up till the holidays. The supply didn't have as much affect as you wish it did.

"you've gone at length at describing 360's sales but you still haven't described PS3's sales at all."

Because making the point that 360 sales are bad doesn't need to take into account the PS3 sales. If the PS3 did not exist at this moment the 360 sales would STILL be bad. I brought up the PS3 sales since you people seem incapable of considering one without the other.

"so i'm calling you out on your bullshit and outing you as a fanboy. that's all."

Your calling me a fanboy when you jumped on me before I even mentioned what my position was on the PS3. You assumed I was trying to make the PS3 look better but all I was saying is that 360 sales are worse than what people believe them to be.

exactly. you haven't stated your position about the PS3 when talking about the 360. even after you called out people for doing the inverse.

your position on the PS3 was asked repeatedly, and still no word. why? you're the one who is incapable of talking about both. and yes, most definitely does the sales of the other's main competitor matter in relation to their own.

I already stated what I thought about PS3 sales, a couple of times. The PS3 selling worse doesn't excuse 360 sales.

No matter how much you wish it did.

Of course, in this fanboy pissing contest, this is the only graph that matters.

Check out that green line! Whats funny is that green line isn't the demand curve for wii, but the supply curve. Wii is STILL supply constrained 7 months after launch.

I already said that they were really shitty. Get the fucking wax out of your ears.

And since they are almost the same as 360 at the same time last year I don't know what victory your claiming.
