StarCraft II playable at BlizzCon

For Aiur! If you missed out getting your tickets to BlizzCon, this news will probably be even more disappointing. Blizzard informs us that StarCraft II will be playable at the Aug. 3-4 BlizzCon event being held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. Demo stations will be set up at the convention and attendees will even be able to experience multiplayer battles.

Now, Blizzard is notoriously slow and anal about their games. Does this demo mean that StarCraft II is further along than we thought? Let's just keep calm and say no for now. It's always safer to do that with Blizzard. Attendees of E3 2005 got to play StarCraft: Ghost ... and look what happened to that. Yup, it's better for StarCraft fans attending BlizzCon to think of this as a bonus, but it's nice to dream the game is further along than anybody guessed.

Somehow, I don't think Starcraft II will be unreleased like Starcraft: Ghost. (rolling eyes)

I played Ghost at E3'05 and really liked it. It was a generic FPS, but I thought it to play more competently than Halo.

I do still live in L.A. for another month... I guess I could cancel my flight to Japan on August 1st, but I don't think I could get the money back... Should I? I mean, there's 3 weeks in Japan, or there's one multiplayer match of SC2 beta...

Diablo 3 = Hellgate london. If Blizzard did a Diablo it would be with people who didnt work on the first two outside of like..artist positions or other "Make it" jobs.

It might just be me, but everything shown of starcraft looks dull to me... I think RTS have moved on since the original game. Starcraft 2 just looks like SC with fisher price 3d instead of sprites..
