Download new Lumines Live! content, save the world

Q Entertainment has announced that purchases of the SOS Charity Campaign Pack made between June 27th and July 17th will go towards climate protection organizations and causes. A remix of "Heavenly Star", the embarrassingly catchy tune by Japanese group Genki Rockets, is included in the pack as a celebration of the group's upcoming appearance at Al Gore's Live Earth musical event. If you haven't heard the song yet, consider that Lumines and Rez designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi came up with it as an answer to the question, "What kind of song would a 17-year old girl from outer space who has never landed on Earth sing to those living on Earth?"
For 350 MS Points (a rather awkward $4 and 37 and a half cents), you'll also receive "House66" by Sugiurumn, "Cosmic Humming" by Muku and the excellent "4x4 Bricks" by Techriders. Joining the SOS Charity Campaign pack on June 27th is the Booster Pack, more suited to those happy to sit in front of the TV and rearrange squares while the world outside melts. The Booster Pack contains 20 additional skins and features a "must-see" collaboration between Lumines, "Bloomy Girls" and Japanese "visual artist/musician" Masakatsu Takagi. It'll set you back 600 MS Points, or $7.50 in your pre-apocalyptic Earth money.

... resist.. feel weaker...
Wait, got no more MS points in my account right now. I'm much better at resisting this stuff with the incredible pain the the ass the points system is.
KilgoreTrout XL @ Jun 22nd 2007 2:15PM
Cool. Wish they had added some new achievements (actually, can they do that in XBLA games?), but not a big deal.
Lumines remains the best game available on the arcade, hands down.

I'm there. This would also explain why the original Heavenly Star has been gone from XBLM for a while now, though I got it when it was first released and have had it ever since. It'll be nice to have all of these. See, Red Octane? This is how you do it. Granted the whole Lumines Live release was a huge debacle, but expansion packs with 20 skins at a nice price is the way to go. The charity pack is also welcome, since it's new content and not old crap being sold to nickle and dime everyone to death.

thanks for getting that fucking Genki Rockets song in my head again, damn catchy techno crap

Global warming is bullshit.
But I've got some carbon credits, if anyone wants to buy them for $50 a piece... ;)
sheppy @ Jun 22nd 2007 2:52PM
They SAID Heavenly Star would be a limited time release.
Gotta ask this question of people though, when you buy a bonus pack, are the songs automatically unlocked or do you have to pay AND fight for them?

Oddly, I've been playing the hell out of this game lately. I'm not that great, but I'm damn close to clearing base mode to get that achievement. I could use some new content.
Still, I would like to see some non-sucky American artists show up in here too.
Uchendu Nwachukwu @ Jun 22nd 2007 5:40PM
@10: Each pack counts as a new Challenge Mode course. You have to complete the course to unlock the skins inside.

Yeah I thought they forgot about the DLC for this game... Finally, something new. But I wonder if they will ever release that Artist Pack, that they promised so long ago. I can only hope one day they do. By that time though the artists might be as current as the Beatles at this rate...
