DS games at Toys R Us are buy 2 get 1 free this week
If there is any company that treats gamers right a few times a year it's Toys R Us with their buy two get one free deal. It's always worth putting a few dollars aside every week for that magical time they unleash the joyful occasion. Well, this week, they're doing the same deal, but only with Nintendo DS games.Until this Saturday, both online and in stores, Toys R Us is offering their buy two, get one free, on all Nintendo DS games. Of course, you should try to get games of the same price because the cheapest one you pick is the free one. Now you can pick up a good game for free that you just couldn't bring yourself to spend actual money on ... yeah, we're talking about Super Princess Peach.

"I work at a Toys R Us in Canada. Havn't heard anything about this promo at all."
Of course you haven't, let's assume that Canada is 3000 miles north of the Melbourne, Florida ToysRUs. From this location, I have just shouted to you about the deal:
3000 Miles * 1610 Meters/Mile = 4829268 Meters.
Speed of Sound = 343 Meters/Second
Therefore, audio confirmation of this deal will reach you in: 14079 Seconds / 3600 Seconds/Hour = 3.91 Hours.

sweet
I love these sales
dmitry kalika @ Jun 24th 2007 1:22PM
hotshot.. that's only assuming that everywhere on teh East Coast of teh US it is 20 degrees Celcius. During the summer, I doubt it's 20 degrees celcius anywhere. Therefore it will reach him a lot faster. Because Speed of sound is 331.4 + .6(temperature)
good try though

about these sales... too bad it's DS games cause i just bought an r4ds for 40 bucks and a micro sd for 15 and for the price of less than 2 DS games I can put as many DS games as will fit on a 1 gig micro SD. now i have abotu 20 games :D.
Borat @ Jun 24th 2007 1:33PM
dmitry that is a good deal but that is illegal.
Very tempting though...
dmitry kalika @ Jun 24th 2007 1:48PM
haha oh well. You can just "say" that they are backups. BTW if anybody is wondering.. I bought the r4ds on amazon.com from the first person under used. Its like collins something. Should be aroun 35 + 5 dollars shipping. And the micro SD on newegg.com.

The promotion could always exclude Canada much like the Bestbuy PS3 game reduction deal did. At least according to bestbuy.ca.

It doesn't look like this sale is making it to Japan - I just checked their website, and it looks like they have SOME kind of campaign going on, it's not a buy two get one free. How sad... I'm gonna go play more Zelda: Phantom Hourglass to cheer me up.
Jamesology @ Jun 24th 2007 10:05PM
In my world ALL GAMES are FREE!!!! Thanks to my friend R4DS. I have games that was release in Europe and Japan.
nathan @ Jun 25th 2007 2:59AM
Ok just to make you guys look bad by being dissed by a 15 y.o. the speed of sound is really about 760 mph when you add wind, geography, temp, elevation.
warioswoods @ Jun 25th 2007 12:53AM
Regarding the above posts about flash carts, I also use one, but not to simply pirate everything. I approach it the same way I approach music - you can explore everything that is out there through downloads, and even play or listen to some things that wouldn't be worth buying, or also obtain some things that aren't for sale in your area - however, when it comes down to it, if you truly have high regard for a performer or game, it's worth buying it to support the makers. Future titles depend on us being good consumers and supporting the companies that make great games, so using the flash cart as a screen to filter out all the games that get old in an hour and then buy the ones you actually like does a great service. Simply stealing everything, though, I find highly problematic.

where's the math, nathan? WHERE'S THE SWEET SWEET MATH?
all silliness aside, I really wish they'd have done this a few weeks ago when I hadn't gone on a game buying spree and spent a couple hundred on DS games for my brothers and I.
Abscissa @ Jun 25th 2007 4:41PM
Super Princess Peach is surprisingly good. Starts out a little slow, but once you get past the first few (easy) levels it gets really good.
GamerEdie @ Jun 25th 2007 6:28PM
Okay, is it just me, or is the Toys "R" Us website linked in this story showing that DS games are actually 3-for-2... not 2-for-1?
Am I missing something??:
shouryuuken @ Jun 25th 2007 7:20PM
lol yeah.. buy 2 get 1 free.. thats 3 for 2 bro. and as for that whole pirating thing.. meh. its all about what you love right? i love games.. and i collect them.. i like having instructions, cases, etc.. and if the game is really that good.. i also want to support the developers like ole dude already said. i dunno i dont brag about having a ton of music that i downloaded.. so when ppl are like "yeah i have ____ games for ___" and theyre all downloaded.. that doesnt impress me. i love music though... just love games more.. so i dont pay for cds anymore. although i have a fair amount of albums i do plan on buying ONE DAY, because theyre definitely worth it.
GamerEdie @ Jun 25th 2007 8:16PM
Okay, technically and mathematically 3-for-2 is 2-for-1, but does that mean that if you go to the checkout of Toys 'R Us (either brick and mortar or website) and purchased two games they'd give you one free?
I'm kinda thinkin' no. I'm kinda thinkin' you have to buy two to get the third.
And mathematically, 2-for-1 would mean that if you bought four games you'd get two free. With a 3-for-2 deal, you wouldn't need to buy that fourth game to get the deal. So techincally, 3-for-2 is a BETTER deal than 2-for-1.
... ohhhhh.. I hate math, let's go shopping!!
Travis @ Jun 26th 2007 12:54AM
@GamerEdie
....are you retarded or something?
I'll bet you failed those state assessments didn't you?
2for1 is a better deal. It means you but ONE game, and get one free.
3for2 means that you buy TWO games and get one free.
Is this concept really that hard to grasp?
I think not. Now go back to eating lead-based paint chips.
