Insomniac lands 8th in the '50 Best Companies to Work For' list
Ratchet & Clank, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Spyro creator Insomniac Games recently placed 8th in the Society for Human Resource Management's "50 Best Companies to Work For" list. The list recognizes small businesses with "smart people management strategies [that] develop successful organizations with highly productive and satisfied workforces". In non-Dilbert-speak: good management makes for happy employees and thus a productive company. Not only is Insomniac the first and only videogame company on the list, it's the first company in the history of the small business category to reach the top ten three years in a row!
Insomniac's founder and CEO Ted Price bragged about the PS3 launch of Resistance: "... we delivered a top-rated and top-selling game -- on time -- while retaining our Top 10 ranking as one of the best small companies to work for in America ...".
All without any heinous Church of England scandals, as well! Oh, wait ...

Heinous? How about overblown?

Actually, they made #8 on the SHRM's list of Top 25 Small Businesses to work for.

There's a seperate list of 25 medium sized businesses. Hence, how Insomniac claimed "top 50." Also, if you'll notice they actually slipped from 4th place last year. Way to spin your shit, Insomniac Games.
Hooray for Joystiq's investigative journalism!!! Oh...wait...

How 'bout a link to the bloody source rather than a slew of links to other random Joystiq articles?
This is sad even by blog standards

Whoa! Posters having one of their lady days? Jeez!
Congrats Insomniac! Too many devs now and days overwork and underpay their poor programmers and employees. Its good to see a video game developer make the list. Twice even. Great job!

Nice first 3 posts. They are still the only the game company on there and the only company to make it in the Top 10 for 3 years straight.

Matt: or, PERHAPS, we've opted to use the giant "Read" link to help isolate the primary source of the post, in addition to linking the image to the same source. Welcome to the way we've been doing things at Weblogs, Inc. for nearly four years! You can now return to being a pedantic grump.

Yeah, Number Six, what a sorry showing by Insomniac. From 4th to 8th place? I mean, how many small businesses could there be in the country? Maybe 30 ... 35? Pfffft!
Matt @ Jun 25th 2007 5:44PM
C.Grant: My Apologies, I missed the (regularly sized) footnote link citing the press release that cites the source. I should have thought to click the image knowing that _that_ link, unlike every other, would point in the right direction.
I don't think its too pedantic of me to accuse you of the ridiculous amount of trivial linking you've been doing at Weblogs, Inc. for nearly four years!

Wow you guys are a bunch of assholes. 8th place is still good enough even if they dropped from 4th place.

"I mean, how many small businesses could there be in the country? Maybe 30 ... 35?"
You got to be kidding, there are probably more then that in each state...
