I remember playing Turrican on my Amiga 2000. It was an awesome game that changed the way I played platform shooters.

Christ no. I still adore Turrican 1-3, this feels more like a Super Turrican than a proper Turrican game (yesyes, it's not official I know). Though love for Turrican faded when I found out Factor 5's dirty Nintencloning.

That said I haven't played the full version yet, just the old demo from a couple of years ago. But that had no Turrican charm whatsoever. It felt like an amateur 3D animator went at a classic 2D platform game.

I wonder if the songs are up to par with the original Turrican. If they have (which I'll bet my house on) gone down the "hardcore" dance route then I'll cry.
PLZ don't destroy classics. Just spam Factor 5 with emails to make direct ports of Turrican 1-3 on whatever consoles digital distribution system.

I played the hell out of some Turrican on my old Amiga 500 back in the early 90's. I was listening to a lot of Depeche Mode at the time so that should date me.

It was on Atari ST too. The fact that it was a clone of Nintendo games was exactly why it was good. It brought console platform shooting to the 16-bit computers.

The original Turrican game was created by Manfred Trenz on the C-64 and the Amiga version followed shortly after.

I've been through several hurricanes in my life, and can confidently say Turrican does NOT rock me like a hurricane. A mild gust, maybe. A spritely gale?
