In case you needed another reason to be excited for this week's release of The Darkness (or you're a masochistic European PS3 owner) we present this multiplayer trailer. It's entertaining, not just for the gameplay, but also for the little narrative in the trailer about a constant smack-talker being (as the kids say) owned by a bunch of darklings, one of which appears to be wearing a top hat (entertainment get!).
But be careful if you're a little fella, as the trailer features some adult language. ... And, you know, adult murder. Also, there's at least one evisceration, which we can all agree is pretty adult too.
It looks really fun. My only concern is how long it'll be fun online once everyone figures out how to expose either the darkling or human form. I'm interested to see how the reviews roll out!
Not even the developer had kind things to say about the multiplayer. They essentially stated it was not even a focus. The multiplayer was an extension of the much better single player. So if you're buying this for the multiplayer, you're dumb.
Average to looks good for a shooter to me, a complete and total disappoint comic book creation of a videogame. Overlord is what Darkness should have been, only of course with a M rating.
What looks so fun about it to me is the simple, fun, run-and-gun gameplay. No intricate strategy, team commands, and hyper-realism to worry about. I suck at those kinds of shooters :(.
Of course, I don't own a 360. And if I did I probably still wouldn't buy this. But it looks really fun, and I'd most certainly borrow it or play it at a friend's house.

What are you talking about? I was eviscerating class pets in kindergarten! Evisceration is kiddy! Lunging... now that's an adult theme.

IGN's reviews of 360 build of The Darkness don't have much in the way of positive things to say about the multiplayer....

Who cares, European owners, simply import a copy from the US. Ebay sellers have them..
There is no region locking on Playstation 3 or PSP (region locking is something for 360, Wii and DS muppets).

Umm, just make sure you're working off an HDTV because the NTSC to PAL difference IS region locked.
Also, DS isn't region locked, dorf.
