This would be a good surprise if you could play multiplayer with people using the PSP as well as the PS3. However, another solid release for the PSN catalog; sure beats retro titles at the same price point.

I love how Sony milks the cows with these HD-Upgrades of old games. Maybe if Sony came out with some legit sequels to their racers they'd sell more consoles...

@Stevo...

Please, tell me how Sony is milking the cows on these releases of their racers. I'm wondering. Especially since GTHD was a free release and Wipeout HD will likely retain traditional PSN pricing.

I mean, when both GT and Wipeout are 2008 releases, certainly there is no harm in dropping a little something on the cheap in 2007, is there?

I just got wipeout pure yesterday (it was a choice between that or FZero X on the wii VC) and I gotta say, the wipeout series are some fun games. This is the type of game that I think would really be enhanced by HD graphics

Wipeout is a great game.

Nobody better be dissing Sony in this post, because when Wipeout games come out, the community wins, period.

Damn straight Sheppy.

WipeOut XL > all other WipeOut titles (even though Fusion was decent, but still a distant 2nd to XL)

Speaking of wipeout..what happened to Koei's racer, similar futuristic type, fatal inertia or something?

@rfom

I think the main problem from Koei's perspective is making Fatal Inertia fun, not really finishing it. The problem when you take a racing game off the planal track is you suddenly have issues with maintaining a fair balance and rock solid physics. At least that's my interpretation. Of course I'm also the only person who's thinking about how hard it is to block a person on your ass to begin with, let alone if your ship only takes up about 1/20th of the canyon area, that's a hell of a lot of airspace you need to guard. And what if someone hits you?

Yes, please please more The Designers RepublicTM(R). The DIRT interface is pretty, but TDR could beat that.

can't believe no one's mentioned motion controls. provided Sony finally got around to bringing RUMBLE BACK, this would be a good title for it.

@Jody, or anybody that knows

In Wipeout Pure on your PSP does "downloads" take you to a messed up playstation page instead of the correct download page?

This used to work fine for me but I tried it just now and it's going to that messed up page...it's like the link the game has stored isn't there anymore. I also tried downloading the tracks on my pc and putting them on the memory stick directly but they are not coming up in the game.
