Casual games have been around FOREVER. What do you think coin-op arcade games were?

They've been around quite a long time, but I have a really hard time labeling a lot of arcade titles as "casual". Particularly stuff in the second wave of releases and later.

I much prefere the term Digital game.
Let these morons try and tell me Castlvania SOTN is "Casual Gamming". Theres quite a few others that dont fit this lable either. I would say something Like Heavy Weapon or feeding frenzy is a "casual Game" but, I just dont like this term being used for my arcade games at all. I sure in hell dont consider a game like Ultimate MK3 a "casual Game", not if U expect to be any good at it.

Thing about it for a moment - arcade games are quick 5-10 minute games with simplified controls and scoring.

@4=Jonah Falcon

Games that R made 4 the arcade are mostly simple, games that have been ported to the arcade R usually much more complex and require some serious effort and time. Like Castlvania SOTN, that will take a person going through it 4 the first time at least 20 hours to get 100 percent. If U just generally only play 5 or 10 minutes at a time with an arcade game than it is U, the "Casual Gamer" and not the game being a "Casual Game".
